We fill every tag we can get our hands on...legally of course:D. In NYS you are allowed to transfer doe(Deer management tags) to another hunter. One can only have 2 transferred tags plus his own tags. But yes we shoot every doe we get a tag for. I like to take the young ones during the gun season, mature ones with the bow and any tags left over are valid for muzzleloading season . Thats the time when real management decisions are made by taking pregnant does. Shoot them does! Ya can't eat horns!

Very cool tool. Man and his ingenuity...A real time saver and I think the machine would save time overall and would pay for itself in a year or 2. Less labor to spend $ on.

Thanks. I bought 2 of those shed mounts from Sportsmans guide. The box that it came in, is behind the mount and the extra shed mount I bought is in front of the horns to show you what the product actually is. I used a 7/32 drill bit to make the holes in the base of the antlers. They fit perfect. Now I will make a foam skull cap( cut a craft store foam egg in half) and cover it with leather or felt and decorate it for the wall.

Jeez if it wasn't for bad luck you'd have none. Get that leg checked out and go light a candle...you ducked a close one.

I had previously posted about a deal on shed mounts, see link. http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74910 This is the finished product of the antlers to the mount. These were from a mule deer I found hung up dead on a fence in Iraan,Texas last March. I took his head. I think these shed mounts are a good product and reasonably priced too. I will fasten the mount to a backboard plaque and I will post the pics of it when I am all done.
