I don't know if you have a Costco by you. But...if you do. Go there and get some Mr.Yoshidas gourmet sauce. It is in the teriyaki family and is out of this world. I marinate just about piece of meat I put on a grill in that stuff. My wife picks it up in 2 one qt containers. I make my jerky with it, marinate the venison ke bobs and you can even use it as a dipping sauce. Give it a shot. I highly reccomend this product.

Hey guys...Last week on Martin Luther King Day. Five hunters(including myself) from surburban NY went to a Church in the heart of NYC to feed about 300 people at a soup kitchen. The president of the Sportsmans Federation of Rockland county was able to secure 300lbs of ground venison through the Venison Coalition. I sit on this federation as a county rep for NY Bowhunters. This group consists of shooters, hunters, trappers and fisherman who are involved in and try to stay on top of anything and everything outdoor related in our county. We meet monthly and also run the countys Friends of the NRA event. Feeding the hungry at this soup kitchen was a very rewarding experience. I have always tried to help those less fortunate, but that was always with a monetary gift. This time I actually gave my time, and came away as a richer person. It was a great idea to put some faces/hunters to the venison served. A good portion of the night we were all bombarded with questions about hunting and how to "catch a deer". I love when people use that term;). Anyway...I would do this again. As a hunter and concerned citizen. I got to see the end line use of the venison donated and served. Please support the venison donation program if there is one in your state. That deer meat helps so many people. Here is the article that was printed in Saturdays local paper on our good deed. Oh boy...Payers headed Steves way. Thanks for the news Darla

I enjoy TV when for the most part it is educational. Yes, Discovery has their fluff shows. But if they are not careful, Sons of Guns can turn into another Orange County Chopper show. Which will make it unwatchable to me. I like the show American gun also. Outdoor channel is gone to first when the TV is turned on. Then I work my way around the box.

Glad you had a good time Ross. Always great to meet up with forum members...especially the boss.

I would take Volkswagons money and do something positive for the hunting and shooting community. Like Ted Nugent does. Like he always does. As far as Ford goes...they are the ONLY car company that did not take bailout money. The Whitehouse asked Ford(after being pestered by GM and Dodge) to take commercials off the air, stating just that. That they took no bailout money. Conflict of interest on the US Gov't part if you ask me. That makes Ford OK in my book. What capitalism is all about. My next truck will be a Ford. Even though I have been a Chevy truck man my whole life. Rock on Ted.

Hope you get a handle on this. Not being able to breathe can't be fun. Get better soon.

Yes Steve...I usually check in with Tink when I am down there. His home is awesome. He has not been around this board at all the last year or so...maybe even more. Gonna give him a call to maybe drop by his ranch and say hello. Also... it looks like I will be doing lunch with Charlie(Double A) once again . It will be good to see ya Charlie. Thank you for the gun use offer, but my friend has a T/C Encore in 25-06 that I will be using. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. As many know I work at Ground Zero in NYC on the Sept 11th Memorial. The job has been practically shut down. None of the subs are being paid, so the men of various trades have been pulled off the job by their companies. My boss alone is owed $26 million. So I am, as are others... being sent on a mandatory furlough. I will be out of work at least 5 weeks. We have to do 14 weeks a year of unpaid furlough( I have 7 done already). So I will be spending some of that time in the Hill Country with a good friend. If I take a Axis that is a plus. I just love being in Texas. Tim...if you are coming downstate this year to the Sportsmans Expo in Suffern. You are more than welcome to come dine again on those quite tasty backstraps. Or even if you are down this way give me a holler and I am sure we can rustle up something to grill.

Well guys it is that time again. Time for my annual Texas hunt. My 5th in as many years. I will once again be travelling to the lovely Texas Hill Country. A town called Kerrville. From Jan 31st to Feb 7th. I have a VERY good friend down there and all this hunt costs is a $38 exotic tag and airfare. Not even bringing a gun. I'll use his. Would rather use mine, but with baggage fees, the possiblity of it being banged around and lost...I'll use his. I will be hunting FREE RANGE Axis and on hog patrol. Last year I shot a good axis and this year I am hoping to shoot a better one. My trophys seem to be improving. It has been a good challenge for me to hunt these critters. Hunting over a feeder is all new to me and I do it once a year when I am down there. It creates a whole new dilemma we here in NYS never have. How do you shoot one deer at the feeder without shooting 10 of 'em? It is like threading a needle. I did it last year and the buck didn't move a lick. Last years kill. I hope I top this buck. If I don't, I know there will be does...Horns are a plus. Wish me luck.

Very Good...many true things are said jokingly;)

Looks to me like this dog hit the jackpot with you as an owner Ben. He will be on excursions other dogs can only dream of. Wish you years of fun afield with him.

Great work. I wish you continued success in putting the trash of the earth in its proper place.
-
Go ahead...get out there and have some fun. Texas is the Sportsmans paradise. Besides...someone has to be on Hog patrol .

Very nice build. The 6.8 has piqued my interest. A heavier bullet with good ballistics also. I too have been tinkering with my AR's. A Colt, Bushmaster and a Stag. Adding lots of accesories to my M4. I am now in the process now of purchasing tools, lower/upper reciever block. For bench/vice work. As far as the 922r( NYS AWB) restrictions go. What was left out was that you can have all of the "banned stuff" if it is mounted on a pre ban lower. Looking forward to your next build. Check out BravoCompanyUSA.com for some great AR items. I reccomend the Mod4 Charging handle. Good Stuff. Be safe at work.

There was one man who walked this earth who was without sin, and I can tell you with all my heart. It ain't any of us on this board. So gimme a break with the holier than thou comments. No one is perfect. Very rare do celebs become HUGE without any bumps in the road. Michael is hitting his. I wish Michael Waddel the best the world has to offer. He is one of my favorite outdoor personalities who has done a whole lot more than many to promote hunting and the outdoors. The possibly shooting the wolf with a collar on, was already explained that it would be legal. So whats the problem? If you do not know Waddys humor, then change the channel. I enjoy him. Tonite on Bone Collector they went off shooting does in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I love it! Rock on Mike.

I paid 3.23 this morning in New Jersey. Just the taxes alone make NJ gas 35cents cheaper than NYS.
-
Very nice rack indeed. Congrats to the hunter. I remember when PA first reintroduced Elk back into the State. Glad there is a huntable population now.
-
Sfae travels Tim. Hope the show is a fun one.

Now Europe will know what we here at Realtree and America always knew...What a incredible craftsman you are . Congrats on the expansion of market.
-
I am late also John...Congrats to you and the Mrs. It takes special women to deal with men like us. The best to you both.
-
I didn't need Google for that one Joe:clown:. I can attest to the fact that you ARE a good one. Of course all things outdoors, (hunting fishing trapping). Since my 3 sons are all big now and spend less time with Poppa .... Habitat improvements to our hunting land seem to have gotten my eye the last few years. Most recently...been tinkering with my guns.

First responders get there pretty fast. That broadhead must have created some serious hemmorhagging(sp?). Come to a mans house...threaten him with bodily harm while having a weapon in your hand...What did he expect? The guy to put up a pot of coffee? Go Castle Doctrine ....go.
-
Wow!!! I agree...massive close call. The Lord was certainly with you. Before the blessing and luck wear out...go buy a lottery ticket. Hope you have learned from this.

Just booked my ticket once again, to the Texas Hill Country for a free range Axis hunt. My 5th in as many years. This luggage is coming with me
