  1. A Couch. A sectional to be exact. 6pcs.
  2. Was back in 98. Bought a bow off of a guy on the job for $100. A Bear Whitetail Legend. It seemed like it fit...What did I know? It came with a few huge shafted aluminum arrows and I started shooting it in the yard. Became pretty good with it. Who knew I was shooting it all wrong and the draw was 1 1/2" too long for me. I was locking my elbow and not even considering/knowing about an anchor point. All I knew was I was hitting the bulls eye at 20 and 30. I took it and my first climbing stand to the woods. On the very first day of bow season, as soon as it got light out. I had action. Had a doe among other doe broadside at 25 yards. I picked out NAP 125gr Shockwave expandibles for broadheads. Again, having no idea what I was doing and thinking heavier heads mean better knockdown power. Thinking like a gun hunter. Well, I put the perfect shot on that doe. Arrow passed through stuck in the ground. She did the classic high kick and tried to hold it. She couldn't. She attempted to run, took about 10 steps and collasped in eye sight. Eventually killed 3 deer with that bow until I was coached by someone who knew and I was set up correctly. I bought a Mathews from an archery shop a few years after that and never looked back. I was hooked for life.
  3. I have not bought a scope in years also until a few months ago. I purchased a Redfield Revolution in 3x9x50 for my 7mm mag for $150 shipped and a 2-7x33 for my Marlin 30/30 for $120. Both from Ebay. Redfield is owned by Leupold and made in the same factory as the Leupold scopes in Oregon, USA. I am very happy with the clarity, focus and overall performance of the scopes I've bought. I highlt reccomend them. You will not be dissappointed. I was leaning towards the Bushnell Trophy XLT(because of Waddy and T Bone commercials). But It was made in China( sorry Mr Waddell). Give Redfield a good look. The 2-7x33 would be perfect for the smokepole.
  4. Tom, Merry Christmas and Thank you for your service. I wish you good luck in the sandbox and may God be with you.
  5. Just used my Christmas gift card. Picked up set for myself and thought I'd share the deal. Cabela's: Pinnacle Four-Piece Luggage Set
  6. Too you too. Hope it was a great one for you.
  7. Merry Christmas and welcome to the forums! Hope Santa treated you right!
  8. Thanks and Merrry Christmas to you too Lynn.
  9. You too John. Hoping the best for you and your family into the new year.
  10. I applaud your efforts to make your deer herd into the herd you want it to be. You are fortunate to have the land and opportunity to make that happen. Many are happy just to be able to see a 160class deer afield and you let them walk. That is dicipline and determination on your behalf. This is my management plan. Where I hunt here in suburban Rockland county NY(40 miles north from NYC) I make it a point to shoot the big ole molly's (does) when opportunity presents. Where I hunt in Sullivan cty NY. I make it a point to shoot the does who have not yet reached 80lbs by Novembers season. We call the little ones skippers. We have a state mandated 3 on one side antler restriction(the 4th year) that seems to be working. Less bucks are being shot , but better quality ones are being taken. We have always had a no spike rule on our land, even before the AR's. Growing big deer takes time and you are willing to make the scarifices it takes to have your QDM implemented. Good Luck with your plans and hunt safe.
  11. Merry Chriatmas to you and your family Tim. Be safe at work!
  12. Neat pics! Was it safe to get that close? How long do you think it was in hibernation?

    Bye guys

Safe travels home Ben. Merry Christmas.
  14. None other than our own Ross Tyser  Ross Tyser SHOT Show Ross told us about this knife a while back. This must be it. A work of art.
  15. You so funny... Good one Steve.
  16. John...Thank you for posting that. I thoroughly enjoyed that video. I can only hope one day I can get to do that. So very cool. I wonder what kind of gun he is using. I want to say a M60 semi version, but I am thinking that .308 would be too dang expensive to blast away like that. So I am leaning more towards a semi version of the SAW M240, which would shoot .223. Only making those guess' based on the flash suprressor and barrel. It could also be a tricked out AR. What a hard time he must have picking up his brass huh?:clown: Either way...VERY cool Vid.
  17. I feel your pain. I have been there myself. I have no wisdom teeth anymore. Hope they were not impacted. I wonder what hurts more? The bill from having no insurance or the procedure spots? Try not to irritate the holes in your jaw with your tongue. They all will grow more gum flesh and fill in a few months. Hang in there... it is temporary. Not before long you will be chomping on those backstraps.

    20 Years

Congrats Mr & Mrs P ! Marriage is a wonderful institution. Everyone who gets married should be committed ...Seriously Chris. Wishing you and the Mrs the best life has to offer.
  19. Good deer caliber and easy on the recoil. Great for youth. The .243 and the 7mm-08 were both created from the .308 cartridge. Matter of fact you could call the .243 a 6mm-08.
  20. Hope you connect Ruth. A great way to try and top off the season with that bow giant you knocked down. Good Luck.
  21. Good buck Mike...Congrats. Lord knows you have put your time in the woods this year. Glad you connected on a good one. Ill take that buck anyday of the week. 4.5 is a good age.
  22. Sorry to hear that Flinty...Hope he gets some good out of those treatments. My mother in law died of the same thing 2 weeks ago. She had inoperable lung and brain cancer. Very fast from diagnosis to death. Even with all the warnings and health alerts some folks still smoke and continue to poison their bodies. Prayers for your brother and his family on their way.
  23. Incredible sequence of pics there Joe. Can't help but think of the famous quote by Fred Bear when I see that. " Death by fang and claw is a much more violent death than the one the hunters arrow bestows." How true huh? Those are some long legged yotes. They smelled that blood on his rump and that I believe, convinced them that they could take him. That is natural selection at work. Thanks for sharing that.
  24. Congrats! This is just the beginning! Job well done. Don't be too upset about the kill. It will not go to waste and deer are a renewable resource. If we weren't meant to eat them , they wouldn't taste so good
