Handmade knives are the BEST...so much character behind them. One sweet looking blade there Lewis.

Heirlooms hold a special place in our heart. Especially those those that have a hunting or outdoor meaning. Use and enjoy that knife and the memories will always stay fresh.

What is happening around here is,... a major sports retailer here in the metro NYC area(Modells) is donating 5% of the profits to a fund to help this young man pay the taxes on the gifts received. The taxes could set him back about 35k. As far as Jeter not giving out autographs. That is not true. I worked at Yankee stadium as a electrician for just about all of the worlds major TV networks from 1993-2001. I was there when he joined the team. He was quite the well mannered young man. He called EVERYONE Mister and Mam. Heard him say numerous times "thank you" after interviews and was quite polite in all his dealings with anyone he came into contact with. Jeter spent many many hours outside the stadium signing autographs for many many fans. Heck he signed a bunch of stuff for me throughout my tenure there. I think he is what a sports star should be made of. He has always been squeaky clean and let his on the field actions speak for him.

Great work... Glad to know men with the white hats still exist .

#1) I am trying to get ALL 3 of my sons together this November so we all can deer hunt(firearm) together. It will be the first time. I dreamed of that day since each were born. Hmmm, for me...I'd like to hunt more(archery) from my home county to have a better chance at better/bigger/mature bucks. Might try the ground this year. I love my trees. Also looking forward to my Texas friend spending another opening week with me here at my hunting camp in the Catskills.

Boy you have been a busy guy at the editing desk huh? Neat vid Mike...Love them fawns running all over. Kids just being kids. Thanks for sharing it.

The media is incredibly biased. Both sides, libs and conservatives have agendas. The majority of the news sources are Lib controlled. Which have been fawning all over the current President as if he walks on water. Tex made some great points on how the news is reported. Spin...I believe is what it is called. How they spin it to fit their agenda. Where I live here in the metro NYC area, all of the news is spoon fed to the people and delivered with precision to the particular masses they are looking to appeal to. The major media makes me lose faith daily in it by reporting wrong facts on issues I/we know better about...like gun control and hunting.

I have 3 sons(19,17,15 now) and all were brought up around guns, outdoors and dead animals. I taught them from early on about respect of guns and weapons. They had to ask permission to enter my gun/reloading room when I was in there. It was locked when I wasn't there. I bought them pellet guns, small recurves and sling shots. I'd say about 5 years old was the age I put a .22 Cricket single shot in the hands of my oldest boy Joe and a dirt bike under his legs. Hmmm...14 years ago( wow I'm gettin old ). I made the mystery of the guns/knives non existent. Anytime they asked about one, I took the time to satisfy their curiosity. They now all have their own rifles and shotguns. For the exception of my oldest son, I control the use and possession of all firearms in this house. They did nothing without strict supervision. But I agree completely about how NYS stifles the ability of youth in the state to progress in the outdoors at younger ages. Kids are blank canvas' while they are young and the teaching penetrates a bit deeper. I am sure you are quite careful and responsible with your children Ken. I am also quite confidant that Blade will grow up to be a fine young man under your tutelage and example. 5 Years old was the age I taught my first son to shoot.

Sweet John! One can only think about the folks who made them and what critters they were flinging them at. Neat find.

Hope it all works out Chris...Prayers headed your way.

Happy Birthday to you Al...hope it is a great one.

Happy Birthday Joe. May you have one hundred more.

I'd rather have the info out there for all to decide. I am from the school of reward your friends...punish your enemies. Outdoors folk have a whole lot of money to spend. If we put our heads and money together, and use that clout. Things might swing our way in the hunting and gun ownership world. The aforementioned is way to important to me to not help it persevere.

Thanks a lot guys, glad your enjoying the pics. It is a honor to work there and be part of history in the making. Each and every craftsman on that site treats this place very special. It is not your normal construction site in NYC. Emotions run high every day. There is never a loss of tourists and NYers that gather outside the 16 acre site. The Museum will have a multitude of items displayed from that fateful day. They have already brought a crushed NYC yellow cab to the museum and I hear a crushed firetruck also will be part of the exhibit. I will do my best to keep my Realtree friends updated on the goings on of the site. The get the whole story on the memorial and Museum. Visit this site. It is the official Sept 11th Memorial site. http://www.911memorial.org/

I know I have not been on here much, but I have quite the busy beaver at work. Six days a week now and possibly going to seven 10hr days soon. I know you guys would like to see the progress that is being made. Here is the official website. National September 11 Memorial & Museum | World Trade Center Memorial This is the new batch of pics I took Saturday while I was at work. They are really pushing the work in the Plaza and for half of the Museum to be completed by this Sept 11th. So much has gotten done below ground it is amazing. It is an honor to work there. I have been on this project for about 15 months now. The company I work for alone has over 150 electricians just on the memorial. Not counting the other towers going up either. There are over 2800 workers at the 16 acre site daily. This is the Freedom Tower or Tower #1 This is one of the light poles we installed. They look like the old towers. This is a view of the south pool or foot print of the old tower 2. The glass structure in the background is whats called the Pavillion. It will be the entrance to the Memorial and museum. This is how the names of those lost, will be memorialized. Around both... the north and south pools. The foot prints for the old towers. This is an area of the Memorial plaza. This is tower 4 on its way up. These are the old foundation steel beams that held up the North tower. They will be part of the Museum when it opens. This is what will be on the wall of the Remains room. That is the room that will house all the unclaimed and unidentified DNA from the Ground Zero recovery effort.
