  1. That is some crazy stuff there Mike. Glad it didn't hurt ya too much. Jersey got hammered like Long Island did. We got flooded here in the house also. Water was flowing in from the foundation and going from one side of the basement to the other. It could have been worse. Nothing money can't replace. Hang in there, the winds are supposed to come. With that come loss of power. Good Luck to ya.
  2. Id say go American made and go with the TC Venture in 243, 7mm08 or 308. Id stay with the short actions to keep the gun light. While Browning and Weatherby make some quality accurate rifles...Where those firearms are made they are NOT allow to own them. Nuff said. A Redfield Revolution scope( made by Leupold) in 3x9x50 will cost around $150 and the rings about another $25. That should keep you in your range of $700. I think that is a great idea to do something like that at a wedding. Quite original in my eyes. Good Luck and Congrats.
  3. Great work...I am sure when he comes to he will be grateful for your skills.
  4. Happy Birthday Kyle...Cash gonna help ya blow out the candles?
  5. I saw the show Ross...It was very moving. For future shows, I hope they profile more workers than just the Iron workers. The project I am on is the Memorial and Museum. My partner and I are doing all of the over head lighting in the Museum. The closer we get to the 11th... feelings come into play, and it gets a bit more emotional working there. I am proud to be part of such a project. For some good pics of the site... Check out this link. The official photographer. http://www.joewoolhead.com/home/

    Earth Quake in Pa.

I am working 242' below grade at Ground Zero and I didn't feel a thing. We have no cell service down there and many of us did not even know there were evacuations in many buildings in NYC's financial district because of the quake. Many were quite pissed off of the lack of communications on the job. Wives were desperately trying to get in touch with their husbands and with no cell service...Well, you can imagine the panic. It will be addressed in tomorrows safety meeting.
  7. Is that a county rule Corey? When I was in West Texas a few years ago... I was encouraged by the 40,000 acre land owner to look for arrowheads to take back home. Hmmm... Sorry for a bit of hijack John.
  8. Sorry about the outdrive John...That bites. Hope it ain't a hard expensive fix. Sounded like one heck of a weekend with all them ( I picture anyway)...screaming teenage girls . But I have to admit...that find of the arrowhead is a special.
  9. It looks great! Congrats on a great buck. They do nice work.
  10. Hope you get MONDO exposure there Ross and have a great time.
  11. Just fishin / Trace Adkins Im gonna miss her/ Brad Paisley Big Time in a small town/ Miranda Lambert Hung up/ Rhett Akins Fred Bear song ( My all time favorite) Ted Nugent
  12. Nice shooting. I've been shooting about one, sometimes 2 each weekend. But I think I'm gonna move up in caliber. Been shooting them with the 22mag at ranges less than 50 yards and it has been working out pretty good. Until last Friday...I slammed one and it had enough gas to get back in a hole under my shed...man did it stink for a few days:yes:...something pushed it out from under the shed...betcha another chuck. I am currently waiting on a chuck I sent out for mounting. It was very different. Quite red. Ill post a pic when I get it. Keep slamming 'em.

    Schrade Knives

Schrade made a great knife. Right here in Elenville,NY about 50 miles away. Some production was taken to Ireland and most to China. I'd say about 7 years ago they moved out of NYS. My first hunting knife was a old timer with a gut hook. Still use it from time to time.
  14. Glad your enjoying the pics. It is a Honor to work there guys. There isn't a day that goes by that I do not think about what took place where I am standing at that moment. The job is crawling with press and TV crews from around the world. Glad your enjoying the pics. The Plaza which is up on the street level will encompass the footprints of the old towers. That will be opened to the public on Sept 12th. On Sept 11th the Plaza will only be open to family of those lost that day. Here is a link to the official site with much more info than I could ever type. http://www.911memorial.org/
  15. Here is a few pics from the job...Shhhhhh...no one is supposed to have these. My gift to you guys on my birthday. This is a wrecked Ambulance from that fateful day. This is a demolition claw that was used to sift through the debris. This was the flag that was draped on the ambulance. Would you believe it...no one there knew how to fold a flag? I knew...That is why my partner and I did it. Nice Realtree Hardwoods 20-200 pattern Hard hat huh? Finally the Ground Zero Cross. The one that the Atheist's are making such a big deal over. This was before it was moved into the Museum two weeks ago.
  16. Awe shucks guys... Thank you very much. I know I haven't been around much like I used to. But I have been quite busy at work. We have been working 10 and 12 hour days at the Sept 11th National Memorial and Museum. So much is getting done. I just wished the job would have accelerated a long time ago instead of going from a snails pace to mach 3. In another post I put up a few pics from the job. Again...thanks for the Birthday wishes. For the record...I'm 47.
  17. I hear ya, good luck with it all...I too am dealing with flood issues as of late. I hate it. I have a huge Copper Beech tree whose roots are attacking my cinder block foundation in the front yard. Letting water come into the house. The tree is coming down then the water proofing work will start.
  18. Glad the move went well. So is the nest empty now Ross?
  19. That is great to hear Chris...Prayers continued for a quick recovery. That is a lot for a kid to go through.
  20. Congrats Kyle...can't put a price on being with your family. Hope it all works out well for you.
  21. Happy Belated Birthday Steve...enjoy.
  22. I have to look for it. How is Steve and Millis Tim? My son Joe said Steve had a nice experience with some bear repellent in his vehicle:jaw:.
