John , that cable carries no voltage. So no need to worry about that if you cut it. If you do not want to cut it...roll it up, squeeze the roll and tape it so it is long and fasten it to the pole so it is out of the way. That is of course if you have a ladder or bucket truck to accomplish that feat.

About how many miles should a vehicle have on it before you go up a weight in motor oil? I would imagine that the rings, cam, lifters and main bearing wear after time and a little heavier oil might be better for a engine with at least 100k on it. Most new or newer vehicles(4&6 cyl) suggest 5w-30. Would it help a engine at all to go up a weight in oil? I figure a heavier oil that would provide greater shear protection could only help for a high mileage motor. OR just stay with the OEM suggestion?

Boric acid has worked for me in the past. Hope some of these remedies work for ya.

Part of what I do is pull wire for a living. Knots and working with rope are a everyday thing. Bolins, squares and half hitches are the most used on the job for hoisting and wire pulling.
