That is what the shooting community is all about...Great going Mark. Our children are the future. Looks like we have another lifelong shooter in the ranks .

Awesome work Ross. Your creativity is endless. What a unique combination of material.

X2. Thanks for sharing that Joe.

Mike, I have no doubt you will make lemonade out of the lemons you were dealt. Funny... as soon as you mention crossbows...forget it...I'm not going there. Good Luck and hunt safe. A shame the way that contest was handled. Gonna give you a call.

I was never spanked as a child. Slaps were more common. My Mom had these lightning hands and was a very accurate slipper thrower to boot. I never saw the slaps coming or the slippers flying until I got hit.. As I graduated to teenhood and grew. Moms slaps were laughable. Then Pop took over :48:. "Wait til your father comes home" were words I dreaded... Pop broke my nose once because I backed his new Caddy into a fire hydrant when I took it to school, and I lied about it when I was 17. After that all it took was a look from my old man and I led the straight and narrow. My 3 boys(19,17,14) have all challenged me at some point. They are all bigger than me, have seen me angry and I try to go with the "mean look" to avoid anything physical and tell them not to test me. So far so good. My wife loses patience and swings at them when they are fresh. They take it and laugh. Wait til your father gets home...the cycle continues. I went to all boys Catholic High school and the Jesuit brothers there were quite free with their hands...NO...I don't mean that way. They had no tolerance for talking back. Bloody noses and slaps upside the head were the norm for not doing your home work. ect..But that is another story. With all the beatings and slaps I was still able to maintain a mid 80's avg.

Yes I do Charlie...was planning on surprising you with a call when I was down there...But Hey...Cats out of the bag now . I will be in Kerrville from Jan 27 to Feb 2 leaving at noon. Lunch is open. We'll talk.

No, I won't be going to Tinks place. Atleast that is not in the plans. I will shoot him an e mail though and tell him I will be out that way to maybe say hello. Maybe some lunch. Tim, I will do my best to shoot straight and bring home the back straps . Mike, you are more than welcome anytime to come and break bread. Ross...I dragged my feet in getting a scabbard for your masterpiece. That will happen soon. I am traveling with only a large carry on. Not checking any luggage. So knife transport will be out of the question on the plane. But I promise it will be used and I will take pics of it in use/after use. Corey...would love to have met ya. I'll be landing in Houston on Thursday Jan 27th at 1:40 and I have to hang around a bit at the airport until my buddy gets out of work to pick me up. We will be driving out to The Hill Country and skipping the connecting flight to San Antone. This is the property I will be looking at boys. http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/grd/2137707221.html

Thats right! ME! Back down at the end of this month, into February to visit and hunt with a good friend. Whitetail will be closed, but hogs and Axis and Sika are fair game. All hunts will be NO fence/fair chase hunts over feeders on private land in Kerrville,Texas . I cannot explain how happy I am. This will be my 4th trip to the lone star state in as many years. Hoping to retire there. Good Lord willing. I will also be looking at a 20 acre ranch for sale down there in Edwards county. The temps have been bordering freezing there. But 32* I can do standing on my head being from NY . I have a great wife . Had to put that in there. Oh man... mentally I am already there.

Yup...got a few. Sun is the biggest enemy of tattoos. Keep sunscreen on them if you are out in the sun or your ink will fade. Right calf done by Chris Garver of Miami ink fame, way before he got on that show. He was working at a shop on the lower east side of NYC in the mid 90's. My most recent. A tribute to my Pop who passed last May. As you can tell Pop was a stone mason. A tribute to my Uncle Marco. Who called everyone a Pineapple. This is my oldest tattoo. Just about 15 hours of hand drawn custom work here. It started in 1989 and finished up in 96. A friend I grew up with, who is also a famous graffiti/tattoo artist Richie "SEEN" did this in about a half dozen sittings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seen_%28artist%29 My sons names and birthdays. Been thinking about deer tracks and turkey tracks on the back of my one of my forearms and the "Don't tread on me" snake. With the saying...on the inside of one forearm for the next ones.

Hello Andrew...good idea not to type in caps...it is like your yelling;). Many pros do recommend to practice shooting in the same get up you will be hunting in. That means your hunting gear. We here in this house do 90% of our target shooting in the warm weather. So our hunting clothes would make us quite hot while practicing so we don't do it. We try to be all dialed in come mid October when our season opens. What I do do( Yeah I said do do:D) when I get dressed before going on stand is, draw my bow and see if I have any issues drawing my bow effortlessly. The Realtree armguard/sleeve wrap that Jeramie suggested, keeps the sleeve nice, tight and out the way. The hinge on the jacket sleeve you may be wearing also plays a factor in your draw. Certain hunting clothes manufacturers like Gamehide make jackets specifically to aid in the draw of a bow with heavy clothes on. It is a good idea to practice, with the clothes you will be hunting in. No doubt. As far as bows. Get to a pro shop and shoot as many as you can and see what feels right for you. There are BIG differences in bows and you will see those differences first hand when you shoot them. Good Luck.

See you at the Suffern ,NY show Tim. I will be donating a day or so at the NY Bowhunters booth. -
Taping and drywall finishing is a art for sure. You can lay it on heavy, but that only means more sanding and more dust. My Pop taught me to make sure you use a knife/trowel that covers both tapered seams on the drywall to get the best spread of the mud as possible. Pop used a 14" knife. I don't think they make them anymore as wide. We have a USG factory in our town that runs 24/7. Have fun and wear a mask when sanding.

My son Joe saved his hard earned snow shoveling money and finally bought his own climbing tree stand. A Summit Viper. So I load it into the bed of the pickup to take it up to camp so he can practice climbing and how to pick trees to climb. " Dad...don't you need to tie it down in the back?" Naa...Joe it ain't going anywhere. It is 22 lbs. We drive non stop to camp, get out the truck and proceed to unload it. Its gone! I had two wheel barrows in the bed also that must have shifted and forced the stand out of the truck. Someone found a brand new Summit Viper on the road somewhere and I had to buy the boy another. Til this day...If I load a 500lb skid of steel in the back, I tie EVERYTHING down now.

This June will be 6 years here.

Thanks for posting that Ben. This Carolyn McCarthy is proposing a hi cap mag ban now. What a misguided individual she is.
