Great Luck Tim...Hope you get on the Realtree DVD's. You know know you'll have at least 2 sold:p.

Happy Birthday pal... .

I saw the show last night and that left me befuddled also. That deer was hit exactly in what my son and I call no mans land. I believe you can kill a deer with a field tip in the lung(s) with proper placement. Not necessarily get a pass through, but all you need to do is deflate a lung or break that diaphragm to stop that deer. The efficiency is not there. That is why we use broadheads. For clean efficient kills. It does however cast some doubt on the efficiency of that particular expandible. For the distance the deer traveled, with a fixed blade I believe it would have bled out.

I am a bore butter storage guy also. I have used those blue T/C pre sat patches also, but only for cleaning. But for the storage, it has been the bore butter.

Do You Remember Your First Model T

You mean a car like this one? This pic is up on wall at my hunting camp. I bought it at a garage sale...Have no idea who it is. Just thought it was a very cool pic to have. -
Awesome! Congrats to your son and you also on a great day.

That camp looks quite comfy:). Would not mind kicking back after a days hunt there. Nice job also on the freaky velvet buck.

Need help Shaun, an 07 Trailblazer issue
Adjam5 replied to Adjam5's topic in Vehicles and Hunting Transportation
Thanks for the advice Shaun . I really appreciate it. Wife was worried to drive it and I afraid she might get stuck with the electronics acting funny. The vehicle has only 34k on it so it is relatively new still under the factory GM warranty. Do they put the gas back in if they have to drop the tank? I just filled it up yesterday dropping $65. Lynn, thanks for the advice I will go over that with the repair mgr at the dealer. -
Hope your son wins...I won back in '73. Good Luck!

Need help Shaun, an 07 Trailblazer issue
Adjam5 replied to Adjam5's topic in Vehicles and Hunting Transportation
Thanks Shaun...wife just came home from shopping and she said the low fuel light went off, but the engine light is still on. With our big storm coming and possibly one of our 4wd vehicles being down at the dealer. My K1500 will be in high demand around here for a few days. -
Yesterday when I took the vehicle out I had at least a 1/4 tank of fuel. Hoping to gas up at my destination in Connecticut. 15 minutes into the trip the low fuel warning light came on. I knew I had fuel, so I continued the trip. Gassed up as soon as I got there, a 65 mile ride from the start. The tank took about 16 gallons so I guess I needed fuel. With a full tank the fuel gauge did not show a full tank, matter of fact it kept reading empty with the low fuel warning light on. We got to where we were going and I parked the vehicle and it stayed put for about 5 hours. When I started the truck up to leave, not only did the low fuel light stay on and tank read empty, now I have the engine warning light lit. The truck ran fine with no signs of malfunction on the way home. If the sending unit went bad, could that be cause for the engine light to be lit? Would fuel with water in it/bad gas cause this issue making the sending unit freeze? It has been quite cold here. I am going to try to get a appt with the Chevy dealer for service this week. It is still covered under the GM warranty. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm calling Obama...you have to gimme half!

Glad to see him go. He shouldn't be anywhere a microphone addressing the public. Another limousine liberal. Good Riddance.

Congrats on the post count...Nice knowing you and reading your posts .

I agree with most everything said here. Plus... I would like to see more regular folks doing regular things. Not like multi millionaire outdoorsman( Greg Ritz) shooting a $1200 rifle topped with $3000 Swarovski glass downing 180" bucks constantly in the newest neatest camo available with every new toy out there. I know sponsors are key elements of production, but many shows over do it. What about hunting with guys who have pieces of shirt tails missing? Duct tape cover the missing windage covers of the scope? Don't laugh...they are out there. I'd like to see Pro hunters going to areas not pre scouted and come out with ANYTHING over 125".

Interesting fact Chris. I suppose due to workplace related deaths like those is the reason why OSHA was born. God Bless their souls. The war effort by those in factories was just as important. Can't get the bad guys without the tools to it with.

Funny the sense of accomplishment we get from trapping or outsmarting something so small, but so significant . Congrats Mike.

Nice ink...talk about brand loyalty huh? Keep it out of the sun. If you must go in the sun, apply sunblock to the tattoo. That will keep it from fading. Apply skin lotion every now and then to prevent dry skin.

I hunted The Bostick Plantation in South Carolina with 3 friends for Deer and Hogs over bait back in late August 01. It cost $750 for 4 days and 3 nights. The food stunk, wasn't ever nearly enough food each meal, too many hunters. The water stunk to high heaven of rotten eggs(sulfur), it was hard to get through a shower without gagging. The beds were held together with tape...yeah duct tape. A total of 3 animals were seen by our party in the 7 hunts. 3 in the am, 4 in the pm. On of the 3 animals seen was a small hog that was shot by a friend in our party. I did not see anything but birds and squirrels. We gave our guide a $100 initial tip( guy who placed us and drove us to our stands) about an hour after we got there. Hoping for a good stand placement and a good impression. We did not eat there after the first two meals didn't provide us with enough food. We went to local restaurants. Meals were to be included. The bugs were brutal and we all paid a premium(almost double) for bug suits sold there. Can you say taken advantage of? Bottom line bad experience all around. Guess they didn't like Yankees. Have not paid to hunt since.

My wife and I are about 2 months apart in age. We are both 46. I have been with her since 85, married since 90. I dated always within my age range +/- 2 years when I was single.

Come on guys...your bashing another outdoorsman and hunter named Jackie Bushman. No bashing allowed here:D. There have been many threads about the aggressive marketing practices deployed by Buckmasters and their agents contracted to do so on this forum. Bushman has turned hunting into a multi million dollar industry for himself by making nothing and selling a name and magazine. People flock to him and subscribe all the time. It is how he keeps himself rolling in the dough. He has over commercialized the hunting industry IMO and appears to be taking advantage of the hunting world by literally spamming with phone calls.. I turn his show off faster than a crossbow hunt by Bill Busbice of Wild game innovations.

Ben...I get your humor and your posts... Rock on...No need to apologize for anything. I enjoy your wit. I hate guys on my job who pay no attention to safety issues and jeopardize others safety and health, by raising dust, creating fumes and working over your head without warning. Just to name a few. I also hate when I phone my wife during the day and ask whats for dinner. She says chicken cutlets,( that means corn, rice a roni and biscuits). I come home and she made something else. After having my heart set on chicken cutlets. I hate that!

Glad you and your PC are back in the game Mike.

Happy Birthday Al...get all them candles out .

First off Congrats. It is quite the honor to have your work admired from across the pond. We here at the Realtree forums have known for quite some time about your skills and creativity. It seems only fitting that you have a work of yours in that museum. Maybe since the Italians are so good a creating good food. How about something in the way of a kitchen knife? Carving ,Filet or cheese blade. OR As William suggested...nothing more American overseas than a Bowie type. With genuine, only to North America...Whitetail antler scales. OR... A recreation of the knife that help free Europe from the Nazi grip. The Army issue fighting knife. My 3 cents.
