  1. Pigeon Forge is indeed the home to Dolly Parton and Dollywood. Unfortunately, we did not have the time to visit with her ;-).
  2. Spent a wonderful week in Pigeon Forge with family over Thanksgiving. The good Lord blessed us with beautiful weather and a chance to chase after Rainbows in the Pigeon River. He was even kind enough to allow us our limit of Rainbows, so a feast of broiled filets ensued much to everyone's delight.
  3. Congrats Ruth, I am glad your "Lady" performed well for you. Thank You.

  7. Kat usually heads up getting the list together and I think there is a minimum post requirement to participate.

    New Guy!

Welcome to the campfire, pull up a stump and set a spell.
  9. Sorry PM'd the link earlier - www.rtcustomknives.com. You can also click on my signature banner.
  10. Outstanding work - what a vision. Must take forever to create one of those treasures.
  11. Since November is only a week or so away - thought I would ask if this was happening again this year. If so I am in.
  12. Been there, done that. Didn't work for me either. Not fun.
  13. Depends on what I am doing - if I am forging then Black Sabbath, Mettalica or Santana. If I am grinding then Journey, Jefferson Starship or even The Doors. Handwork - CCR, Marshall Tucker Band, REO Speedwagon, BTO or Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Scrim - I got to have some Jim Ed Brown, TJ Klay, Conway Twitty or Patsy Cline.
  14. Thanks for the input - looking at Cabela's web site it states that the inseam for the size 9 waders is 32 -34 inches. I wear a size 9 boot but have very short legs with a 29-30 inch inseam. How comfortable will these be to sit and drive in with the extra inseam length? My question is are they going to bunch up on me?

    Waders?

I haven't bought a pair in over 25 years and am in need of a new pair. Went looking this past weekend and was overwhelmed by the number of choices out there. Anyone bought any recently, if so what kind and what was your determining factor. Back when I bought my last pair neoprene waders weren't even available.
  16. To get orders in for CHRISTmas.
  17. Anyone used one of these yet? If so, thoughts? Thinking about getting one.
  18. Don't know what this will mean for my Pheasant and Grouse hunting in South Dakota in early November. I find that the older I get the less I can tolerate the cold.

  20. Well - it has been too long indeed. Lots going on not the least of which is RAIN. Been miserable in the stand the last few days, absolutely nothing moving out there. I know we need the rain but jeeeez. Been covered up with orders this season, don't know what is driving it but I like it. Also, got a bit of news. It seems that they are working up an idea for a Docu-Series for the Discovery Channel on Custom Knifemakers and I am in consideration for the series. Not sure how I feel about that - not a real big fan of "Reality" TV but if it is done in a way that will help educate then I am all for it. I have been on the road a good bit this summer but am back home now and hoping to be here for a while. I may go to South Dakota in early November to try and lessen the Pheasant population some. going to spend the week of Thanksgiving in Pigeon Forge and will do my best to reduce the Trout population there as well. So, what have I missed?
  21. I would like to Thank everyone for their support in voting for my business in the recent grant contest. Unfortunately I did not make the cut. Hopefully another opportunity will come along. In the meantime I will continue to make the very best knives I know how and continue to teach those willing to learn.
