"4th Night. I feel like a broken record. Bean field, 68 degrees. Seeing bucks and does, just no shooters or as I told Todd the other day, just JV squad, Varsity players havent shown up yet. Well, better pay attention."
Boy o boy. These whitetails are putting a whooping on me so far this season. Thought I had them figured out....Wrong! We came in with high hopes this morning. 6 doe
That M word is scary! Plus there are to many out there to choose from.
What kinda sucks is the ones that I wouldnt mind discussing that M word with dont want to and the ones I dont want to discuss it with, want to. Crazy.
And, I want to drop another 30 pounds before getting serious or thinking about that stuff again. I'm down 50 since I was hunting with you. The goal will be the end of duck season for the other 30. That will give me the time to drop the weight I want and to clear my head from this past years relationships and heal up some. Then the rut starts Feb 1st.
Sit there and let her bring my sammiches and beer, then watch her vaccuum. I will even get out of her way when she is walking down the hall with a arm full of clothes to fold. Thats pretty much all I can think of that I do for her.
Going to go out and try something new next weekend. Since I am tagged out on Deer and Bear, the only 2 tags left are cougar and elk. My elk season doesnt start till November so now it's time to chase some cat. Going to hit the woods next weekend for a first time cougar hunt. The plan....
Head out a few miles off the path into the unkown. I have seen cougars in this area before so hopefully they are still around. Going to take the bow for this trip. Going to sit and call. This is where it could go not as planned since I will be in the middle of wolf country with some grizzlies thrown in as well as black bears.
It is going to be an intense experience no matter what happens. Even if I dont see a single thing, I would bet my truck that a set of eyes will be placed on me. Can't wait for the thrill.
Congrats SC on your first deer with the bow!
Be sure you take some pics of you WITH the deer showing all points and a pic of your deer tag.
Good job on sticking with it and finding the deer.
