  1. Re: Hoyt Selena Well I considered the Selena when I was looking for a new bow. Didn't get to try one because no one carried it, or the Rintec XL. So I had to order my bow without trying it first, the Rintec XL, and I was not sorry. If price hadn't been an issue, I would have gotten the Selena. I hear it goes around $500, a little more or a little less depending on the store. I've heard it's a really nice bow.

  12. So I'm sleeping and Andy comes in and wake up up at 8am. Guess what is in our woods? Deer! Usually with our dogs, you don't see the deer as they move through our woods and go back to the big woods. Our woods is a on he side of a hill with an alafalfa field on one side, and our corn field and horsep asture on the other. the deer are still in there as I write this. they were up feeding and have bedded down again in some thick brushy stuff. Andy thinks there are five. I also saw 3 Red Squirrels in one of our sugar Maples closer to the house, and 2 of them doing it. I think it's a little cold for that, lmbo Gee, what an exciting morning! Anyone else have a thrill to wake up to?

  21. Re: NY Deer Hunters I would not mind having a longer deer season...if it was Archery season that started a little earlier or ran a little later..but the rest of those proposals? We would have such a messed up deer population....

    I got it!

Well Tuesday at 10am, I have a phone interview with the head Env. Ed person at the NYS DEC for employment at one of their summer camps, hopefully the one I did my internship at. I'm kinda nervous, but not much. i mean he's know me already because I did my internship at the DEC camp near home. i'm just not sure what he is going to ask. anyone got any tips? Should i maybe make an outline for myself so I have something to follow by. All I know is it is in God's control....if He wants me to work at camp, I'll get the job, and if not, He must want me to serve somewhere else.
  23. Re: Resume HELP !!!! Yup, check word, and like yahoo or google. When you write up a cover letter, be careful not too repeat your resume in your coverletter. the coverletter basically introduces yourself and why you want to work for whomever. your resume should list your job experiences, from most current to past, then list related coursework, experiences relating to the jov you want, etc....
  24. Re: New form photo...let me know what you think [ QUOTE ] Sweet Bow and form looks good. How do you like the bemans? [/ QUOTE ] I really like the Beman arrows. They hold up well and they haven't worn down the coating on my Nap rest very much, i think because they have that finish on them. andy has some plain, I think Gold Tip, arrowsand they really wear down the coating on the prongs on his Nap rest.
  25. So I started doing som flies last night. when I learned how to tie a wolly bugger at an NWTF WIO last year, the lady who taught us (she's well known) taught us how to do the thread, then tie on maribou, then chenille and the hackle and put it all together. well the little cabela's fly tying book that came with thek it showed the same steps but to wrap some wire on the hook first then tie it down with the thread and go about the steps. So what is the correct or preferred way? I'm guessing the wire gives it some weight and makes the chenille body a little more prominent, but I don't get it when I was taught to do it without wire. I did a black wooly bugger, then an olive one with a hackle from one of our mini-chickens, but the hackle was too thick for it, doesn't look to great, and i tied a simple orange egg.
