  7. if you have them, of your bow, or gun if you don't do archery, or both. Are you making any upgrades to your equipment for this year? Well here's my bow: 2006 Hoyt Rintec XL This year I am putting a string loop on, putting on some custom Bucknasty strings (in blue and black). this picture is old because I added a Limbsaver Mini S Coil stabilizer to it. May switch to a tubless peep or may not..not sure yet.

Re: my buck Wow, very nice buck! Congrats!
  11. from the NYS DEC. I sent in my cover letter and resume about a week and a half ago for applying to work at one of the summer env. ed. camps. I finally got an email back with some paperwork to fill out and send in, then to call and schedule a phone interview. Oh boy.... Well this is my last week of custodial for 2 weeks, so that should give me time to get this all taken care of. Only thing is I was going to drive down to a local state park and ask about employment there...what happens if you get accepted to 2 summer jobs? Or should I wait to find out if I can work for the DEC before I check with the local park?
  12. Re: When Shooting Your Bow... One eye...tried both but because my shooting eye wheres a contact due to an injury when I was 8, well shooting with both eyes doesn't work for me
  13. Re: I have entered the world of Moronhood Congrats buddy! So what color ATV did you pick out? LOL
  14. just didn't want to get out of bed this morning? Ugh, my alarm went off at 6:08am and I was like "No, don't wanna get up." It's cold out and snowy, but at least it is my last day of custodial on Friday...for 2 weeks, lol, then I get to take over another building for a supervisor going on vacation Still Friday is a long ways off....which means 2 more days of having to get up. If it was still deer season, i'd change my mind
  15. Re: what a shame *pics* Wow... too bad. That's a nice fire place.
  16. Re: Afraid to draw my bow now.. Wow, glad you are ok! Yeah, I'dsaw go to a shop and have them check it over and maybe seeing them draw it will help you. just something you will have to get confidence back in.
  17. when you need new arrows? I have Beman ICS 500 so they basically don't get bent like aluminum but is there a certain point when you need to replace them? I noticed on a couple, near the tip end of the arrow, the black finish or whatever is on them is wearing off a little from going in the target. Not sure if that is of any concern or not. All these new graphite/carbon arrows seem to last along while, but I thought it was a good question to ask. Thanks!
  18. Re: Woohoo, gonna have fun! [ QUOTE ] TG, You need to learn to tie what is called a Dahlberg Deep wiggler. It is a two part body that is of the wooly booger family. You cut the bend off of a hook to make the back portion and tie it in before you lay down the chenile for the front body. Alternatives for top water can be tied without the lead eyes. The two part body and the wiggle legs just drive fish nuts. This fly caught the largest rainbow I have ever caught and is great on Bass too. Believe me, there isn't a fish that swims which will not eat this fly handily. Saltwater fish completely tore apart several in a matter of a few hours. Tie them in a pink coloring for saltwater, green and black for trout and bass. This fly works so well at times that I have taken it off and changed to a different fly to add some challenge. Here's a pic: http://www.anglersvice.com/retail/common...pf%5Fid=10384za You can thank me later! New [/ QUOTE ] Wow, I gotta try that one So you basically make up/finish the back end first and then wind the string onto the main body part and finish that?
  19. Re: Your biggest fish ever Don't have a photo anymore but a 32" Steelhead (freshwater)
  20. My order from Cabela's came yesterday with all my fly tying stuff, 100 grain field tips, broadhed sharpener, string seperator, fly floatant, and what not. I just need to order a fly tying book from half.com so I don't get bored tying wooly buggers, lol I put the tips on my arrows, and what a difference from 125 grain to 100 grain, with the 125 grain, if I had them laying in my hand, they were off balance but with the 10 grain tips, they weren't all unbalance because of the weight on the arrow end, if that means anything..
  21. Re: Please give my your opinions on my form Thanks everyone. I'm definitely comfortable the way I am. God made us all different, so no one is going to have the exact same form, and there is no such thing as "perfect" anyway:-) Of course it;s better to have decent form than really bad. It's not like my string is al lthe way to my ear, lol.
  22. Re: Re-did My set-up (pics) Gotta love re-vamping gear:-)
  23. Re: Are you getting a new bow? I can't vote, lol. I just bought my 06' hoyt last October so it's still a brand new baby:)
  24. Re: Basically starting from scratch Hey squirrel hunter, should I just get one and take it with me to have them put it on or wait and ask them if they have one? I'm going to end up ordering a new peep sight anyway because they didn't have one I was looking at
  25. Re: Next Year Buck Gorgeous set of antlers! I love how the brown and white of the antler kind of marble together....
