Re: OMG! I think we had bear!!! No we don't. One of these days we've got to get one though. I'm hoping we get some snow then I'll get out and see if I can find any tracks or sign...I really want to see a black bear in the wild!

About 5:30pm tonight as my sister was going out to do the barn chores, she and mym om call me to the back porch. Outside in our woods and/or in the field bordering it we hear this high pitch screaming from an animal then a 2 woofs would answer back, but not your normal dog or coyote/fox sound, and the screech was not an owl or raccon. Well I look in our mammal ID book and it says the black bears, a cub will give a distress call and the mother will answer back with a woof-woof. I go online and find a cub distress call and I'm telling you guys, I'm about 95% sure it was the exact same sound! It said mothers and cubs could be together for a year and that they semi-hibernate, and we have had bear sightings the last couple years in the area, and at the DEC camp I did my internship which is about 15 minutes away on the other side of the lake, they have bears around there all the time. We tried to look for tracks but no luck really, not much snow, and the field is totally bare. I've heard raccons screeching and fighting before, and fox and coyotes howl and barking and such, but this was not any of those.

Re: Looking for a Stabilizer I got a Limbsaver min-S coil for $17 from Gander Mountain and have it on my Hoyt Rintec XL. Haven't shot my bow alot with it yet but it seems to work pretty good...my bow is pretty quiet already anyway:-) It's not too heavy either which I like. the Doinkers felt like a brick to me..but maybe it's because I'm a girl:-)

I'm on break right now, sitting in an empty dorm room with my laptop and there is no one rooming here in the basement on the dorm. Well right now some girl is down the hall somewhere belting her lungs out and while I know God gave her that voice, I wish she'd stop! LOL, it's driving me nuts! Ok, just thought I make a statement,lol. Oh nooo, she's starting again, what the heck!?

Re: Illinois Antlerless Only hunt. Very strange! Congrats to your dad! Yeah, it kind of has the buck build to it. My mom yesterday had 3 deer cross in front of her and she said they were really big so i'm wondering if they were bucks that had shed....

Re: Found 2 dead bucks!!! Wow, nice bucks, but what a real shame! I know that feeling. During shotgun season, Andy and I stopped to push this small patch of woods near a road, and right across from the patch of woods was a really nice 8 point dead in the ditch. A real shame. Then someone took the rack while we were gone and that ticked me off!

Re: Weird Pain... Well sometimes pain in the back of the knee indicates something with the meniscus but being that you are having muscle spasms, sounds like it's the muscle. The hamstring (comprised of 3 muscles) attaches down by the knee - could be the tendon attachment, but sounds like you need to stretch and take some calcium and potassium.

Anyone want to share photos of your shed collections? Here's mine: Row to the far left is all my matched sheds, the ones to the right are the unmatched ones. That big 4 point at the very top to the right is the one I found last spring - my biggest. those 2 big ones at the very bottom are a set of rattling antlers I found tied together, lying in a corn field, forgotten by whoever had been parked in the spot I found them - I remember seeing a vehicle there, this was awhile back. Anyone else?
