  1. *fighting purr* lol wyo. I'm not in to rushing things. I have faith in whatever God has planned, whether there is a special someone involved or not, I'll go along with it:)
  2. I'll repeat myself anyway, beautiful Andy! The new owner should be impressed!
  3. WTG Fly! Congrats on a lovely doe!
  4. Guess you aren't so bad after all.... My 1st issue of NY Outdoor News came today! I had no idea the DEC got a new commissioner until I saw the front page, lol!:disolve: Thanks buddy!
  5.:poke: So some of you may remember last year I got a fly rod and reel for steelhead from Cabelas, and I was able to land one and lost several. Well when I first got the reel, for some reason I thought it was on left hand and I had to convert it to right hand. Well I noticed when steelhead fishing, it was like I had no drag tension...the fish took off and my line was out like a flash. I had no control of the fish. I thought maybe it was the "disc drag", lol. I'm still new to fly fishing kind of so bear with me:turned: Today I'm tying up some sucker spawn flies in prep for steelhead season and decide to pull my reel out and clean the line and see what the deal is with the drag. Well I then find out it had really been right hand in the first place and I had changed it over to left hand! DUH. So I flip the nut/ball bearing over that converts right to left, etc and presto! My reel has an adjustable drag! LOL:o:stupid: I'm so excited now for steelhead season, knowing that my reel is now working the way it's suppose to be and I will actually have drag tension on my line when a fish takes the hook... Duh Ruth, duh...:boo:
  6. Wow, what a shame...goes to show what this world is coming to! Well I'm not sorry I voted...you're a good guy RB:) Isn't there a saying about the nice guys who finish last....

  8. Just thought I'd put this here to let you all know I have a sign-up thread for the 2011 shed contest in the shed forum! YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 75 POSTS to sign-up. Anyhow, if you like to shed hunt and want to join in on some fun, check it out!
  9. gets boring, lol. Every now and then I wonder, "Is God going to send me the right guy one of these days?" I was watching a hunting show this morning with "America's Favorite Hunting Couple" and it got me to thinking how I do wish sometimes I had someone close to go hunting with, go to 3D shoots, go fishing, etc...etc...Someone to share in the fun and excitement. Don't get me wrong, it's great to be independent, but I don't go anywhere 1/2 the time because I don't have a good friend who is enthusiastic about hunting and the outdoors and would enjoy stuff like that. Most of my pals from camp live out of state or on the other side of the state. Anyone get my drift at all? Guess it's all part of His will andnot knowing what He has in store.
  10. I literally tell myself to calm own and breath, lol. It works sometimes, sometimes it doesn't. I also think Xanax would be a good name for a bow,lol
  11. Wow! Not a pretty sight! Poor thing!
  12. Wow, great pics! Looks like a great place to do some hunting!!
  13. Very nice! Dunno why I don't see RT snow camo sold in these parts....we have enough snow, lol. Steve B. is a good guy!
  14. He and his family are great people! In fact saw Randy's picture in the 2011 Mathews cataloge today, lol :-D
  15. Went shopping with my mom today, dropped her off and went to a bow shop. Not the one I'm planning to get my new bow at but wanted to get a head start on things. Didn't have time to shoot any but I sure did get my hands on some bows. Also had the guy there check my DL because while I've shot at 26", that has always felt a little long to me and when I got my Hoyt, the guy at the shop never really measured, he kind of guessed:hammer2: Anyhow I'm more of a 25" DL:o So the bows I held: The new Hoyt Carbon bow - really nice feel but way to high of a price.... Held the Hoyt Rampage...felt heavy and I dunno that I like the design...just seemed kind of blocky. THEN I held some Mathews bows...uh oh.... Z7 extreme....very nice feel...nice grip...just felt nice to hold...So I'm thinking even the Z7 may be a winner. Is this what falling in love feels like, lol:o The Mathews bows made the Hoyts feel heavy to me... Held a Bowtech...nice but the grip felt weird to me...maybe just that bow.. Held a Mission Maniac...another nice bow, the Z7 is still my fav. so far. Of course got some other bow shops to visit and leave some time to shoot some bows. Guy at this shop told me the Mathews Passions is essentially a DXT. So that's it...for now. Got a Mathews, Mission, and Hoyt cataloges for my homework:)

    Am I bad for this?

What's it going to hurt the kid? Seems by not letting him watch programs with a cultural background other than America, you are teaching your kid to be racist...Just how I see it. At least if a child has some exposure to other cultures by one means or another, he/she can develop their OWN OPINION. I didn't have to take Spanish until highschool and college. Lately it seems to me that "America" is so much better and too good for the rest of the cultures....Think for a minute how other cultures are looking at us....

  19. I will get some more rules posted soon. In the mean time wanted to get the sign-up going. A few general rules: #1. You will be divided up into teams equally as possible. #2. The contest is for bragging rights. No prizes...yet. I may have an idea for something this year though. #3. You need to have AT LEAST 75 POSTS to be eligible. I want to cut-down on entrants who sign-up then don't participate, leaving their team high and dry. #4. When signing up, please include your NAME, STATE or STATES you may be shed hunting in, and estimated NUMBER of sheds you think you may find. #5. Please PM me with any questions. #6. This is the SIGN-UP THREAD ONLY. There will be an entry thread and team thread. #7. Last day to sign-up is January 28, 2011.
  20. That's how much I just worked the last 4 days...whew. Short staffed is not a good thing... Need to have a life now and then outside of work, lol:rolleyes: I am extremely close to paying off my loans and being debt free! In fact today I'll probably try and get 1 of the 2 paid off.:toot:
  21. Besides the obvious hunting, a couple things: Shed antler hunting....love the spring time woods and the treasured tines poking up from the forest floor Fly Tying...taught myself and love it Farming equipment...don't ask me why but anything tractor related...grew up in the country and as a very young girl, my mom and I can remember me running to thr window to watch the tractors go up and down the road. Almost still do to this day...lol
  22. Joined in May 2002...Some have seen me go through college from 02'-06' for my B.S. then nursing school from 07'-09'...and all the hunting inbetween and life challenges. Plenty of good things have happened throug here in the almost 9 years I've been on here...guess I'm old now,lol
  23. That was quick Adam, lol! Glad Jo has seen "the light",lol! Actually, in my new bow search, plan to look at Mathews so who knows...I think Hoyt or Mathews will be at the top, just not sure which one...lol
