We have a Tom Tom and a Garmin. My Garmin has a Marine mode and works as my boat GPS and Depthfinder as well as my truck GPS (It's neat unit). For ease of use, the Tom Tom wins. Super simple to operate. The Garmin is more versatile but also more complicated. Two pieces of advice. 1) If the GPS comes with a Disk and USB cable. Start the Disk install BEFORE you hook up your GPS to the computer. Otherwise Windows picks USB drivers on it's own that may not work exactly right and your unit may not update properly. It's best to update the unit first before you ever try to use it. Doesn't matter if the unit is on or off wait until the installation software tells you to hook up. 2) Do not leave the GPS where it can be seen in the vehicle when parked, EVER! GPS units are popular smash and grab items. I know two people this has happened to, in broad daylight! The thieves just broke a window, grabbed the unit and took off!

I've known Mark since the early 80's. Bought plenty of Archery stuff from him and shot arrows with him. This guy was a real bowhunting advocate. I'll miss him next time I'm in Birmingham Alabama. Mark Whitlock owner of Mark's Outdoors loses his battle with Lymphoma | al.com

The first picture is a couple months after the accident. By November I was still cross-eyed, struggling with balance and using my right hand (formerly paralyzed). I've been through so much physical therapy it's ridiculous.

How's your Dad doing? TBI's keep on healing for long time. Nine years out I'm still seeing tiny improvements. Tell him not to give up.

Nine years ago today I was in an accident that put me in a coma for weeks and changed my life forever. I had to re-learn how to walk, talk, dress myself, feed myself... Now I'm playing guitar again. Starting to get my singing voice back. And doing some things around the house. I still have some problems but I've got a life. Today is the day I reflect on how much I have to thank God for.

Yep they can live in freshwater. They don't get nearly as big as they do in saltwater. Usually they don't get up in these narrow shallow creeks around here. They also usually aren't here until end of June. Gonna have to do some thinking to get one out of that creek even with heavier gear. All he is gonna have to do is go around a bend and cut me off on an oyster rake.

My friend Terry and I went out on the river today. We caught a keeper each. He caught one that was just under 17" and I got one that was right at the 23" max (weighed 6 1/2lbs). I had a tarpon on my small rod back in this little creek. Sure wasn't expecting a tarpon back there! It's early in the season and it was low tide. It was about a 30lb or bigger fish. It jumped six times and stripped all 150 yards of 30lb line off my little rig. The spool knot held but he popped the leader. There simply was no stopping him! Pretty exciting but I'm snakebit for tarpon. I always seem to hook up with one when I least expect it on inadequate gear. Since they'll probably be in that creek awhile, I may have to go back and try again with the bigger rods. God willing I'll finally get one.

The .665 choke is a popular exit diameter for a 12ga Turkey choke not a 20ga. 20ga will be smaller .565-.575 Most Undertaker chokes I'm familiar with have ports on them. You DO NOT want to shoot Flight Control ammo through a choke with ports! The flight control wad is notorious for hanging up on ports making follow up shots extremely dangerous. With really tight chokes and the flight control wads, the wad can hang up and burst the barrel. The flight control wad usually is best for someone who only has a Factory Full choke. Try Winchester Extended Range #6s (Cabelas doesn't show these loads in 20ga on line) The Winchester Supreme High Velocity turkey loads are also a good load. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Shotgun-Ammunition|/pc/104792580/c/104691780/sc/104567580/Winchester-Supreme-High-Velocity-Turkey-Loads/740961.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fshooting-ammunition-shotgun-ammunition%2F_%2FN-1100191%2B4294751469%2B4294751464%2FNe-4294751469%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BBRprd739993%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BBRprd739993%3Bcat104567580

I'm not going to argue with you. I wouldn't stay to find out!

Luckily I'm not allergic to them. I still ended up with a red rash and a headache that lasted until I went to bed that night.

Here's a picture of another I took today. According to the local news we have had a huge caterpillar hatch this year.

Luckily it didn't touch down. YIKES!!!

Honestly, I've been bit, pinched and stung by bait. Guess I'm just lucky.

Two separate times yesterday I had one of these things fall out of a tree in my backyard and land in my shirt collar! It's similar to getting stung by a jellyfish. Cortisone ointment and a benedryl helped. Here's a picture I took of one. They are called Tussock moth caterpillars.

A lot of target shooters like the bow to tip forward after the shot. They use a wrist sling and open handed grip and just let the sling catch the bow after the shot. For hunting, balanced and no tipping forward is much preferred. Letting the bow tip forward after a hunting shot usually isn't a good idea.

The Buck 110 is probably the best domestic made $40 price point knife on the market. It's a 420HC blade but Buck heat treats it better than anyone. There are other domestic and foreign knife makers that use 420HC for blades but they don't heat treat is the same way. It's not even like it's the same steel. 420HC is a good blade steel if it's in a Buck knife! The Benchmade Griptilian is another outstanding domestic knife. 154cm stainless is an excellent blade steel. It will cost you around double or more the Buck 110 will. Ross Tyser makes great custom knives. He forges his own Damascus blades. Not a lot of custom knife makers doing that! Since no one else posted the link to Ross's website. I will. Honestly a pretty broad arsenal already. Here's an option. Don't buy another gun, if you can upgrade the glass for one of the other guns.

Last week my wife was diagnosed with TMJ. Essentially this is a constantly inflamed jaw muscle that causes headache, fatigue... Although she is happy to finally have her headaches diagnosed. Tomorrow she is going to be fitted for an orthotic. She will have to wear this contraption for months every day and even sleep with it on! On top of that it's gonna cost us $2000 to get the thing. I really and truly hope this helps her. But honestly I'm a little worried it won't work. If anyone here has some experience with orthotics and TMJ. Please share!

I'm glad to hear this!
