  1. I don't care whose feathers I ruffle with this, as long it ain't a mod or Admins feathers:D I have been seeing a few banners of people on here with "Obama for sportsmen" on and truthfully it makes me sick. People who think Obama is for Sportsmen are the same people who will help take our gun and hunting rights away by supporting BHO. Have they forgotten "bitter people cling to guns and religion"? Or how about he voted against EVERY piece of PRO GUN legislation that ever passed his desk. Every gun ban, every bullet ban, every confiscation scheme the libs could concoct he was there to vote YES on. Clinton, Shumer,Biden, Kennedy all of the Gun ban buddies he surrounds himself with. You are good as the people who you stay with, and I know what I think of the aforementioned Senators. Patooey! Just watch how hard and expensive it will get for hunters and shooters in the future. If you support BHO, you support gun bans, registration and confiscation. His history is clear on that subject. You know he is NOT from a hunting/shooting/military family, so what love does he have for people who support that? I am not going by opinion, I am going by BHO voting record while he held public office. Thats how I judge what a candidate is made of. At least John Kerry TRIED to gain some phony support by donning orange and a side by side. This guy BHO, made no public statements regarding support of shooting or hunting, only negative comments and we have a group of people who say " BHO for sportsmen" These are the hunters and shooters that just don't get it and will be dragged out by the LIBS saying" See... he is a hunter and he agrees with our stances". OR... "Well, I don't have a AR15 or AK so I don't care, or I think hi cap mags should be banned no hunter uses them" What a Joke. I have 11 more years to retire, good Lord willing, and I get out of this LIBERAL cesspool state I was born in and get to a more hunter/shooter/tough on crime state...Like Texas:D I loved it when I was there and will go back. No matter WHO the President is...that state among others will ALWAYS be conservative. Sorry I ranted, but it bothered me ...like broccoli gas:p. I feel better now.
  2. Time to start buying lengths of 6" PVC with glue and end caps:D Thats all I get out of that. No wait...Obama is for Sportsmen:rolleyes:....he'll won't let this happen. PUHLEEEESE.
  3. No one is out on the front lines taking it on the chin, as a hunter and gun owner; than Uncle Ted. NO ONE. That man does soo much for charity that people never even hear about. He loves this country and honors our soldiers and has a unblemished record as far as gun/hunters rights go. Ted is even a Deputy Sheriff in the Texas town he has land in. Love him or hate him, you can't ignore him. I love when he says" you can't do this in France baby" and lets loose a 30 rd mag:D Rock on Uncle Ted...and God Bless America
  4. Happy Birthday son;) 17... Wow! Where does the time go?
  5. Thanks Joe but no I don't. I was just looking to get this scope serviced so when that moment of truth comes the scope don't get cloudy. We have a hunting buddy who is named foggy soggy Bob from his scope fogging on him on a big one that he still shakes his head over. I don't want to be foggy soggy Tony:D This is a old gun and I'd like to keep it together with how I got it.
  6. Then what...the .22mag in the ear:D
  7. I have a old, maybe 30 year old Weaver V7 in 2.5-7X. It is mounted on a Mauser conversion in .243, I lent it to my cousins boyfriend to hunt with and he caught the scope pulling it up to the stand on a step:mad:. The seal around the front lens is broke. While it is not fogged yet, it is only a matter of time. All of the info I pull up on Google and Yahoo tells me that the Weaver scope repair in El Paso,TX is closed. Anyone have any info where I can get this scope repaired? Here is a pic of the gun and scope. Thanks
  8. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Prayers and condolences to you and your family.

  10. Good Luck and be safe! Hope you haver a bountiful harvest:)
  11. What type of traps do you use to get a critter like that?
  12. Yes, that can bite not being able to get out of the woods. Glad your feeling better Ken. A short bed p/u should fit any ATV with the tailgate open, but you need to fasten it and the ramp good for travel. I have a bi fold ramp that fits under the quad and has chains that hook to the cables of the tailgate to secure it to the truck when taking it on or off. A 6' bed Silverado. I do not bring the ATV anywhere near where I am hunting, foot power to the stands. We get it when we need it to retrieve downed game. I have also put on a additional muffler silencer to be less noisy and disturbing when we have to get in the woods to do anything. I have rode right up to deer and have been complimented on by neighbors for how quiet it is. http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product?storeId=10101&Pr=p_Product.CATENTRY_ID%3A2014887&productId=2014887&catalogId=10113 To bad we can't put a computer on it and make it come like Nightrider did with Kit:D
  13. WoooHOO! Good Job! Congrats! I love non typicals too. Nothing is as unique as a non typical. A management buck no doubt.
  14. We had some wild windy and cold weather at deer camp the last week. With no deer moving I had to find something to do at camp. Hmmmm.... My video camera looks out of place here...Hmmmm. I got it! I have a roll of camo tape! Thats what I'll do! I sure wish they would sell them like this:) The round edges would not stick, but I took a few small pieces to cover most of the blue. I like it. What do you think?

    Any Stats?

I think the no brow thing is a genetic thing. I have found muley sheds in West Texas with brows and they are notorious for not having any. Ranch owner said the muley around there have brows. Weird. But as Strut said, in parts of PA and in our area in NY's 3H region, bucks with no brows get passed over on because of the 3 on one side rule and THEY become your breeder bucks passing on those junky genes:(. Spread might be a better gauge than points.
  16. Lucky you Kevin! That Texas Hill country is something else...ain't it? Good man that Tink! Glad Carol is feeling better too.
  17. I'm in too. Looking forward to this:)
  18. We will spend $250 each kid, 3 of them and about $250 on each other. We have limited spending to $1000
  19. Oh wow...Thank God he is OK...Jeez what a close call and in front of you too. Glad he is OK...Phew.

    Kinda Bummed

I hear ya Kirk. Our land is next to a hunting camp which shoots anything we let go by. I have always had a "NO spikes rule", they shoot them all:( I feel ya pain. I guess when you finally connect, it will be that much sweeter. Good Luck and hunt safe.
  21. Beautiful knife...Great Job Ross.
  22. The deer belongs to the kid. Hands down. Its all about the kids in my eyes. Selfish and greedy hunters will pull stuff like that. If that happened to me or my son I'd walk away...unless they were on my land. Then everything changes.
  23. Great buck! Congrats! Even with all that pressure you pulled it off. Good Job.
