Very true about what you read on the net. BUT... While snopes can be a good source of info for dispelling rumors and myths...The owners of this snopes are MAJOR BHO supporters and contributors. There is no liability for claiming something to be false and it is true. You can find this info for yourself....again on the net. A Google search revealed that Snopes.com is owned by David and Barbara Mikkelson, who live in Southern California and are Obama supporters. An interested reader (unknown to me) suspected that Snopes had a liberal bias after discovering several "half-truths" and distortions. Compare their analysis of the Obama/Ayers connection with truthorfiction.com's analysis of the same subject. Snopes minimizes the connection, categorizing the rumor as a "Partial Truth," while truthorfiction calls it a "Truth" and, in fact, references a CNN expose of the two, as well as a Wall Street Journal article about their connection. Snopes not only does not reference either source cited above, but instead, lists a quote from an Obama spokesman as its main source. snopes.com: Barack Obama and Bill Ayers Barack Obama and William Ayers-Truth! Another comparison of Snopes vs. Truthorfiction is their treatment of the email regarding "Obama's 50 lies." Snopes adds editorial comments favoring Obama on unproven statements or even on proven ones where the comments are that he is "taken out of context." snopes.com: Obama's 50 Lies / Obama Not Exactly Obama Lies?-Truth!, Fiction!, and Unproven! There are other things that they list as false, even though Youtube has videos of Obama or others actually making the statements. Seems Snopes has a liberal agenda and TruthOrFiction.com-Is that forwarded email Truth or Fiction? Research into stories, scams, hoaxes, myths, and urban legends on the Internet might be a better, unbiased source.

I'd put that cop down as one of the good guys. Glad you could use it.

Yes...that does get my blood boiling a bit. It is no surprise that the current administration is going along with scams like this. But how long can this last before there is no money to support these criminals and freeloaders ? I am curious if the attorney general of that state knows about that. Lord knows Eric Holder could give a rats behind about it.

Thanks guys. It was as always, a fun trip there. Getting more comfortable each time I go. Never shot a animal on the move before like the hog I shot. Interesting to say the least. Hogs are quite destructive. Glad I was able to help. My son Joe has made plans to be down there for a Rio hunt in March. Scoping it out also for a possible move there too. Having my own place down in the Hill Country may make me go more often that just once a year. I need to set up for retirement.

Very different from your other creations Ross. Nicely done.

Every year for the last 6 I have been going to the Hill country for a free range Axis hunt with a good friend of mine who has access to a real honey hole where native and exotic species come and go free range. I stay at my friends ranch where he raises Whitetail for auction. Then we go on a 20 min ride into Kerrville to hunt Axis. Well we made that ride almost a dozen times in the am and pm to no avail. Nothing worth shooting came into range. I saw lots of Whitetail and Rio turkeys...But no shooter Axis. A little bit of luck did come my way though. My friend got a call about 2 hogs that have been crashing through a neighbors fencing and destroying his pasture and eating what feed he puts out for his livestock. We jumped in the truck like Batman and Robin...Off to save the day! . The land owner took us for a quick walk showing the land boundries, where the hogs were last spotted and the broken fencing that they come and go through. I had the gun first. My friend stayed by the hole in the fence. I started walking the property looking. With goats and sheep all over it made it interesting to say the least. I kicked up 2 hogs and they went running towards the hole in the fence. My friend was standing there, so they turned around and headed back my way. I got a steady rest and waited for them to enter my sight picture. The first one went by like lightning. The second one was not so lucky. He took a 25-06 and crumbled. About a 100lb boar I was told. Now I stood by the hole in the fence and gave my friend his rifle back. His turn. About 30 mins later this hog was charging my friend and he shot it above the right eye. He was going for the middle of the eyes. But I guess that was good enough. I was very apprehensive about weter or not these hogs were on ahi fence operation. That is NOT me. I am fair chase Charlie. Even with hogs. I asked the land owner and he showed me the destruction these hogs were causing and in no way did he put them/ want them on his land. No fees were paid and we made a happy rancher with 2 dead hogs. So my hunt wasn't fruitless after all. Even if I didnt shoot anything while there it was still a great trip. I was able to purchase and close on a 6.5 acre parcel of land. Sell the old decaying mobile home that was on the property(they haul it away). Find a 6pt shed on the land I bought, seen a few deer on my land and re strengthend my friendship with a my Texas pal. There are lot of live Oak on the property. Some of them have that Oak wilt. Those trees need some love next time I am down there. I even got lucky in a bad way. When I went to catch my flight out of San Antone. It got cancelled and Delta had to put me up in a hotel for the night. Not the worst thing having to spend another night in Texas. Being that I shot my hog on the day before I left. The processor could not cut and freeze my meat in time for me to take it on the plane. That turned out to be a blessing. If I would have had that cooler full of meat with me. It would have spoiled with my one day lay over. So while I was away. My home area in NY got about 30" of snow! I missed it all and didnt have move a lick of snow! How lucky can a guy get? The pics. The mobile I sold on the land I bought. The 6pt shed I found on my land. The G5 and G6 were chewed down by varmints. My hog with my friend Herbie. Me on right. Both of our hogs. A pretty cool vid I took with my small dig cam of my friend dropping his sow trotting towards him while heading towards hole in fence.

Great vid Mike. She is right with the libs and dems having their mind already made up and not listening to what the people want. The NJ, NY and CT is gone...Get out while you still can. Don't forget to pay your exit tax (3%) if you own and sell a home in NJ. Thank Jim Florio on the way out.

Have a safe trip Shaun. I know you had a great time down there last year. Enjoy the well deserved time off. Me... I just came back from my annual trip to Texas

I believe the current administration would love to put gun and ammo manufacturers out of business. If you remember...It was the Clinton administration that changed all the rules regs and fees for FFL dealers. They put many a licensed legal small gun dealers out of business. So the poisoning continues. OK...so lets say BHO and his ilk have their wishes granted and they get all the ban/laws they want. What is the reality of having these federal laws changed, if a new conservative is elected at the end of this prison sentence with Barry?
-
You are right this is a HUGE embarassment for the BHO and his ilk. Wasn't it written a few months ago that Chicago has had more murders in 2012 than Iraq had in 2012? Makes you wonder which is the more dangerous place huh? Ya see...We all get it. They don't. Sad...Very sad, and they call themselves leaders.
-
If all firearm manufacturers get on board with this. It might make a difference. But you know what will happen...The local PD's and LE will enlist the dark lords help and maybe even Eric Holder will come out personally and sell some parts and ammo. But ONLY if you belong to a Mexican Drug gang. Then you can get all the parts, guns and ammo you want. If any PD is short on anything...Washington will step up and provide. Therefore getting them on board with a confiscation plan because they were rescued by the Feds. This is a mostly symbolic move by gun makers. The same way the Feds caused a ammo shortage by a huge purchase...They are prepared for this reaction also. Just one angle from here.

Well...No Axis kill to report. But I did close on my property in Harper,TX. Sold a old 1980 mobile home that was on that property( wasn't in good shape). Found a 6pt whitetail shed on my land( that means it might be a 12pt). Burned a huge pile of brush that was an eyesore. Shot a few mags thru a supressed UZI(OMG!). Gave out pints of NY Maple syrup as gifts to my new Hill Country neighbors. Oh Yeah...shot my first hog too! A boar. Currently I am stuck in a San Antonio hotel. My flight was cancelled yesterday and Delta had to put me up for the night. I won't get home until 11:30 this evening. But being stuck in Texas ain't all bad . I'll post pics and more stories when I get home.

This county is right above mine. It is much more rural and there is still a whole lot of agriculture there. I betcha half if not more of the OC population are NYC transplants that moved there after 9/11. I doubt very much my county will do something like that. Too close to NYC and the bunny hugging/anti gun way of thought. Too many Subarus, volvos and prius' with dark lord, co exist and PETA bumper stickers. Those are Zombie vehicles But I have read that a few firearm manufacturers are refusing to sell, repair or warrant any of their products to ANY NYS govt agency or dept. Until these draconian laws are repealed. Barrett has had good luck in the past doing this to Kalifornia.

I have been in Texas the last week and I have seen how gun owners and shooters are helping each other. In the Hill country there is a ammo and gun garage sale page on the net that all who subscribe. Let each other know of ammo and good deals. There is even a whole lot of trading going on among individuals. Ammo for mags...ammo for ammo and even guns for ammo. I have been to Walmart in Kerrville on 4 separate occasions with my local friend to purchase 223 in 3 box increments for a normal price of$24.98 for 60 rds of 5.56/.223. Brass case. If you got caught sleeping on what is taking place with ammo and guns. Well.... I don't want to call you any names...But at minimum. You missed the boat. Deals can be found, but they require dillegence.Mostly at local shops. It doesnt help with the Gov't making a huge purchase of the most popular ammo either. Dept of Homeland security bought billions of rounds of 5.56/40S&W/9mm/.45acp. What does that doe to the regular guy? In the meanwhile...save your brass, go buy a press, some dies, powder and primers(if you can find them) and make sure you or your loved ones never get caught in this mess again.

This parent was spot on. Bravo! My brother lives in the town over Bethel, and shares the same school district. He and some other parents have the same sentiment...from our cold dead fingers. Thanks for sharing that Luke. -
When you control the media you control what info the public gets. Glad no further carnage took place, and good guy ended it.

Been going back and forth between the game and wicked tuna.

It is time of year for my annual Axis hunt(#6). I have posted about buying land in Texas and getting out of NY. This is part of the reason why I fell in love with Texas. First of all...year round big game hunting of Axis and other exotics. Big whitetail with a game commission that is serious about native specie propogation. While Axis are NOT native to Texas. The Texas DPW makes it real affordable for the license to kill non native species and help the anaimals that are native. My friend has access to a 8 acre piece of land right off a commercial strip in Kerrville where exotics come and go all day long free range. Whitetails and Rio turkeys also frequent the spot. A feeder is maintained and those who have year long access almost never have to buy meat. While I am down there I will most likely close on the property I have the binder on in Harper, TX. I am also gonna give Tink a shout too while I am down there. An afternoon with that man is highly educational. His home is a like a outdoorsman dream home/museum. Will be good to see him again. I have met Double A Charlie in past years for lunch. Super guy. As are all Texans I have met. If any Texans are in the Kerrviile area and want to meet up. PM me the next 2 days and I will give you my phone #. Maybe we can have lunch. This is last years Axis. The year before. The year before. Does and spikes before these. Each year getting a little bit better. A 30" or better Axis buck is what I am told is a trophy animal. I'm gettin there. These are free range deer that cost me a $48 non resident(for now) 5 day exotic license. That is all. No access fee but I do return a favor to the land owner for letting us hunt there. I leave Weds morning. Hope I have a great story for all when I get back.

I really dont care who wins as long as my pool numbers come out!:clown:

So no handguns even for hunting? Trevor...congrats on passing the course. Great times in the field ahead. If I may...assault rifles are full auto guns. Machine guns. One trigger pull and it keeps firing. Those guns are HIGHLY federally regulated and most states do not allow class 3 weapons ( full auto). Assault rifle is a term that Hitler and the media have perpetuated people into believing are machine guns. What we here in the states are allowed to own( in some states anyway) are what is called modern sporting rifles. An "AR" or "AK" operates on the same principle as most Remington hunting rifles. They just look different. The last time I checked...a gun looking a certain way does not hurt or assault anyone. It is firing any gun at someone that does the bad. I understand the unfamiliarity with these types of weapons because most of our Canadian neighbors have never owned/shot these type firearms before. Just a bit of added gun info.
