I know I have posted a lot about this issue and I do NOT want to bore anyone or beat this topic to death. But this could happen in your county next. Judge Jeanine Pirro is a former DA and Judge in Westchester county. One of the counties that had the names and address' of legal gun permit holders names and address' published online for anyone to see. She herself was outed so to speak as a licensed legal gun permit holder. She is spot on with her assesement of this issue. Judge Jeanine calls out 'The Journal News' | Fox News Video

Here is some more info. NEW YORK FIREARMS BAN! SCOPE is sending this Alert to put all firearm owners on notice that the time to act is now. New York State has positioned itself to pass the most draconian gun laws in the nation. Governor Cuomo is pressing hard to push these bills through. Without a majority in the State Senate to block these measures; their passage is a very real possibility. We are asking all members to forward all SCOPE communications to concerned citizens on their contact lists and ask them to contact their legislators. Time is short and the consequences of inaction are unacceptable. These bills, with the Governor pushing for confiscation or a permit system for Modern Sporting Rifles, represent the biggest threats we have faced since 1968. You cannot relax if you do not own one of these rifles because they will divide and separate. Your firearms are next of their list if they succeed here. SCOPE’S leadership, while representing thousands of firearm owners through individual memberships and clubs, cannot fight this battle alone. This is your call to action. Your participation is no guarantee that we will win this important fight to protect your Constitutional rights but we can say with certainty that anything short of overwhelming our legislators with calls, emails and letters we have virtually no chance. Truth is the only thing that really motivates most legislators is their next election and by contacting your legislators and letting them know that your vote depends on their support is crucial. We are doing everything within our power to defend your rights, but remember we are an all-volunteer group and we need you to join us in these efforts. Here is the ACTION PLAN Forward this to your friends contacts and associates. Spread the word on Forums like NY Firearms with 6600 members or USA Carry with 45000 members or AR15.com with their 11,000 members etc Share on Face book etc. Pass this to at least 10 people that you know and plan to make some phone calls on Monday and Tuesday! The Governors State of the State Speech planned for Wednesday January 9 at 1:30 PM. Gun Owners, their families, friends and supporters of the Constitution need to invest a few minutes of their time and make some phone calls. On Monday and/or Tuesday of this week, prior to the State of the State Address, Call the Governor’s Office (518) 474-8390– AND LEAVE THIS MESSAGE: "I am a law abiding, tax paying, voting, citizen of New York State and I strongly urge you not to impose any further restrictions, laws or regulations on my Second Amendment Rights as granted by the United States Constitution". Then you call Senate Leader Skelos and Klein and leave the same message. Then you call Assembly Leader Silver and leave the same message. Please make these phone call messages to our ELECTED representatives. If the trunk lines into the capital become overloaded with call volume then so be it......this is the goal. WE MUST BE HEARD. While waiting, you can also access their respective web sites and voice your concern through email message. Write the same message as above or add your own but be civil. All phone numbers and links are listed below. Governor at (518) 474-8390, then click the link to leave a message Contact | Governor Andrew M. You should also forward this to every gun owner you know. Make them call too! Notify you clubs and organizations. WE MUST STAND TOGETHER! Read this article so you can understand what the power structure is this term. Call these IDC members which include: Senators Diane Savino, David Valesky, David Carlucci, and Malcolm Smith. Jeff Klein is in the lead. He's working with Skelos as co-majority leader of sorts. These five along with our Republican friends are gun owners only hope. Believe me you...I have written letters and emails to all of my politicos. It was a tough decision as to wether or not I wanted to write them. Write them and get on the map so to speak, or do nothing and lose your rights. I chose to write them. This will most likely NOT happen in the rest of the country. Just in urban areas where the democraps rule. Bug...I was in PA over the weeknd at... ahem...lets just say a show . My friend and I were discussing a move while we drove. My youngest son is 16 and in deep with the school here. Principals list and a academy of finance selected student. It will be hard to get away before his college choices/possible scholarship(s) is/are done. My wife is freakin about me saying I want to move. I am attending a meeting tomorrow eve with all the sportsman/gun clubs in the county and we are looking to devise a strategy to combat these current actions in our county and state. I'll kepp y'all in the loop. BTW Bug...Suffolk huh? I have family in St James. AND...I just got 4 guys on the job to buy their 1st guns. They are from Hicksville,Glen Head, Mt Sinai and Islip.

S805-2013 - NY Senate Open Legislation - Provides for the registration of firearms by the owner thereof at the county clerks office of the county where the owner resides, except in New York City - New York State Senate Once again. The law abiding are being targeted here in NYS. Its time to move for me folks. Yes...Gun ownership means that much to me. Each week there is another attack on gun owners either in the paper or on the twisted TV news. Gun owners are being demonized at all angles. I'd like to move out ASAP, but I still have one son in high school(10th grade) so this is gonna require some deep thought on my behalf. Scary...very scary. Registration leads to confiscation. Period. Now is the time NY residents to voice opposition as soon as you can. This is NOT gonna go away that easy. Go to WWW.NRA-ILA.org to find your local politicos and tell them how you feel.

I am not one for conspircay theories...but too much seems to be happening along the lines of the anti gun agenda that is currently being pushed. Hoping these happenings are just coincidence. Prayers out to the families involved.

Wow... you guys like your pizza so many different ways. I like a round Sicilian pie thick crust, cheesy and not too well done. I am not big on toppings because IMO they tend to over power the taste of the pizza. I am partial to brick oven cooked pizza also. I work in the pizza capital of the world(NYC), and I make it a point to eat pizza all over in my travels for comparison. The Bronx pizza is best IMO. It is all in the water the dough is made out of. John...anchovies ar VERY salty and are a acquired taste. Tiny fish(size of your finger) cured in salt with the bones still in them...Yes, you eat the bones also. Ill send you some if you like.

For those who have not followed the story. My county(Rockland) and another across the Hudson river(Westchester) had thier pistol permit licensees published online stating names and address' of who has a pistol permit. There has been a HUGE outcry over this for many reasons. Here is what happend at the press conference regarding this issue. The press conference this morning at the Rockland County Legislative building went very well. The condemnation of the Journal News was unanimous. From the politicians, to law enforcement to every one in attendance there was total agreement that the publishing of the list was a grievous error. One of the legislators who spoke actually handed to the county clerk his permit application and check stating that he is now concerned that his house would be an easy target since he was not on the list. The Rockland Times and News 12 covered the proceedings but lo and behold guess who was absent----The Journal News!! I guess you can find out more about the press conference by watching News 12 or picking up a copy of the Rockland Times.

And there is NEVER any accountablility. The public has a right for the truth to be told to it. That is not happening with the current media oulets. The way it stands now...If you want to tell the truth...You have to own your own newspaper or TV station. Lying is accepted in journalism today.

Great decision on that young mans behalf. Thank him for his future service. Don't worry. He will be back and you will have your hunting partner again. But he will be molded a bit different. I can guarantee that.

Happy New Year everyone!

Wow...that is quite the story. He needs to find another place to hunt or bring someone who knows what they are doing. I hunted for my first 6 years back in the 80's and didnt even see a deer. So I kind of sympathize.

John...I am so glad you posted this. This issue has become BIG BIG News around these parts, and I see elsewhere in the country . This is the definition of hypocrisy.
-
I agree with all of the above. You did the right thing...Don't look back. His loss.

Yes...That is BIG news around here. Thanks for postig that Luke I belong to a county sportsmans group. We are meeting Tuesday night to address this issue and get the word out about a boycott of all stores that advertise with the Journal News. What kills me about this is; that they are demonizing law abiding gun owners and making them out the be evil people who own guns. Because you own a gun does that make you a killer? So if you have a sexual organ...your a prostitute? That is their logic. The press never misses an opportunity to bad mouth hunters. Yet what we do is legal and law abiding. Everyone of those gun permitees all underwent a Sherrif dept background check, had 5 people from the county sign and vouch for you, disclosed any possible criminal past, gave finger prints and pictures. Does the newspaper do that to pedophiles? Or convicted DWI's No....Gun owners are evil bad people...Thats what they are selling. Here is a link to their advertisers. Boycott Journal News Advertisers

Well you know the press with their selective reporting.

I would really like to get to the bottom of this story. I guess after the investigation is closed. Everything will come out. The story said 4 handguns were used. Just by the count of spent brass. Police will know what was used and the shot count. If a AR type rifle was not used at all...Boy oh Boy did the press have a agenda here.
-
Thanks for posting that info. The media creates stories and the dirt bag liberals will NEVER waste a tragedy to further their agenda. Molon Labe

Ha! Thanks for the link Luke. I don't do facebook. This seems to have gone viral. They pissed off many many folks with their irresponsibility. I hope they get bombarded every which way with protests and calls objecting to their trash. I have been trying to call for over and hour! Gun owners cannot let up on this issue. Would you believe they linked law abiding gun owners to the killings in Newtown,CT? Read todays article on this trash. http://www.lohud.com/article/20121226/NEWS02/312260035/Journal-News-gun-owner-database-draws-criticism?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|News

Seems like you and a few others had the same idea Bug. I opened up my Email and there are 3 e mails with the names, addys and home phone#'s of the jerks who are responsible for the trash piece of journalism. One from The county's Sportsmans Federation pres, one from NY Bowhunters Pres and One from the local rep of the NYS Rifle and pistol assoc. I called each one and the lines either ring til no end with no answer or the mail box's are full. I am going to try and call again at 4am when I get up for work . Thanks for your post Bug and the support.

My son just paid this morning in Dutchess county ,NY at Colllectors Ammo and guns, Hopewell Junction. 66cents a round for Lake City mfg with brass case 5.56. $279 for 420rds. This same shop has AR recievers for $110 stripped and Stag lowers complete for $250. Those are dang good prices on the AR's. The ammo is a bit pricey. But if you can get it...You get it.
