    New home decor

It looks really great Ben. I agree on the possible color change to bring out the hidden stuff...but I have to tell ya. As an electrician...you need some accent lighting. It could even double for mood lighting when you have your groove on:kiss:. Lighting makes a difference. Some track lighting or wall washer hi hats would work well. That ledge is perfect for decorating with game animals and their parts.

    Bye

Have a safe trip and may your arrows fly straight. Good Luck pal.
  3. That is a dumpster container for some reason that was left in the middle of the excavation. I am sure it will be removed. In this location a ship from the 1800's was dug up. Story here. Buried ship found at Ground Zero | Photo Gallery William I should still be working there when Christina takes her trip there. We will be in touch before that. I have to say I am enjoying the peace and quiet that the serenity of the woods brings. With all of the, crowds, filthy air, loud noise and fast paced tasks all day. I really really love sitting in a tree . Have not seen any shooters yet, but I have not been bored while on stand. Plenty of activity. I get back to work on Dec 5th and will continue to take pics and share them with my Realtree family. Hunt safe!
  4. Looking to keep all of you guys up to date on our newest National Monument. Ill be off the job for 6 weeks of hunting...Yeah thats right...I said 6 weeks. I took these before I left last Friday It seems to be coming along nicely in all areas and is really taking shape. It has to be over 2000 people working at this site. It is an honor to work there. The Freedom Tower as it stood last Thursday. This is a view of the canyon wall they call it. Inside that big white box is a the last beam that was left standing after the towers fell. It will be part of the museum. These are the aluminum panels that will cover the pool walls down below. My partner and I are doing all the lighting in the Museum. About 85' in the air all day on a boom lift. This is the view off of my lift. This Memorial park. We are forbidden to go there. A lot of high security all around. Accross the street, there was a building that was damaged by the Towers coming down and it was also infected with mold. That building had to come down also. That was the Deutch Bank. This land has never been escavated before and they are findinding things constantly. About a year ago they found a old boat buried that dates bak to the early 1800's. Another building will rise at this site as will the Vehicle Security center. That will be where they scan and search all vehicles looking to enter the complex. Last but not least...A tree stand that I just have to have... NYPD uses it to spy on the Occupy Wall st protesters and just have a better overall view of the crowds in the financial district. The protesters of Occupy Wall street.
  5. The bungees you are talking about are the really thin stretchy strings that usually come with the factory scopes...right? I have never seen replacements for them. I would think about a arts and crafts store to see if they have anything similiar. OR You could just replace the factory scope cover with Butler Creek flip open/see thru type. Good Luck
  6. I am late getting on board with Tims hunt, been away hunting myself. But I do declare that that is one sweet buck with lots of character! Love the bladed tines and the split g2. Great going Tim...Congrats! I'd say that is a 300lber.

    Well?

Here are the changes that are coming to NYS hunting seasons. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced that it has adopted a five-year deer management plan. The final plan, which has been revised based on public comment on a previously released draft version, is now available at www.dec.ny.gov/animals/7211.html. "White-tailed deer are an important and valued natural resource for New Yorkers," Commissioner Joe Martens said. "DEC's new deer management plan provides strategic direction for our staff over the next five years and will help us focus our efforts where they can best meet the biological and social demands associated with deer. This plan emphasizes the importance of hunting for deer management, and we are particularly excited to create new opportunities for young deer hunters," Martens said. "We are also cognizant of the significant ecological impacts associated with deer, and we are eager to more fully bring our knowledge of these impacts into the population management process." The plan describes six primary goals that encompass the current priorities for deer management and the values and issues expressed by the public: Manage deer populations at levels that are appropriate for human and ecological concerns; Promote and enhance deer hunting as an important recreational activity, tradition, and population management tool in New York; Reduce negative impacts caused by deer; Foster public understanding and communication about deer ecology, deer management, economic aspects and recreational opportunities; Manage deer to promote healthy and sustainable forests and enhance habitat conservation efforts to benefit deer and other species; and Ensure that the necessary resources are available to support sound management of white-tailed deer in New York. Public comment on the draft deer management plan was carefully reviewed by the Department, and several notable changes were made in the adopted plan, including: Changing to a 5-year cycle for evaluating deer population objectives; DEC removed the proposal to completely discontinue either-sex and antlerless-only tags; DEC is committing to implementing a youth deer hunting opportunity. Details related to timing and structure of a youth hunt have been removed from the plan so as to allow continued discussion to identify the most appropriate option; and DEC clarified that a special antlerless-only season for muzzleloader hunters will only occur as the 3rd phase of a multi-phase process, and only in WMUs where additional doe harvest is needed. DEC intends to begin implementing strategies of the deer plan immediately. While many strategies will take several years to develop, DEC expects to begin rulemaking to implement a number of hunting-related aspects of this plan prior to the 2012-13 hunting seasons, including: Establishing a youth deer hunt; Starting the Southern Zone bow season October 1st; Allowing DMPs to be used during the bow and early muzzleloader season in the Northern Zone; and Expanding mandatory antler restrictions into 7 WMUs in southeastern New York. DEC strives to provide a deer management program that balances diverse public interests and values with the biological needs and ecological relationships of deer, for the benefit of New York's white-tailed deer herd and the people of New York. My Ouch

That looks like it is delivering monster throbs each second...Hope it heals fast Kyle. You are right handed? I hope... First thing I think of with hand injuries is the problem they can create when one uses the rest room. Good Luck.
  11. I saw no deer on stand both mornings and had to get off my stand Saturday afternoon with branches falling all over. Yes it was about as windy as I can remember a opening day was. My son Joe dropped a mature doe this morning. This afternoon was a bust also. Used the time to pack up early and head home. I have 6 weeks to chase Whitetail after this Friday...I am in no rush. Good Luck to all.
  12. How does one spell... drooling about the offer? . That is one heck of a deal Steve. Being a lecky for 27 years and a avid outdoorsman...I am quite tempted to bite. Just don't know how to sell it to the wife:argue:. We need some drainage work here from the floods we have had the last few months and it will be a extremely hard sell. Thank you for this generous offer.
  13. Moms are Soo special...My deepest condolences Gary to you and your family.

    Well?

Congrats on the 8pter Chris . Our season as Tim stated, starts on this Saturday. I have been flinging my sticks and sighted in my rifles...I am ready. Waited 3 years for a doe tag in my area...got one this year! Does help ease the "no horns in a while pain" Good Luck and hunt safe all.
  15. I love with my 95 K1500 Silverado. Just about 180,000 miles on it. Burns a little oil, but it still has lots of ooomph for those uphill loaded hauls. But I am in danger of losing it...My 17 year old son has been using it often and now he calls it HIS truck. I gotta tell ya I can't blame him. It is a great truck that has NEVER failed me in snow sleet rain or very cold mornings when I was worried it wouldn't start. It has some rot on the rockers which is common for these trucks. But the body is solid. Like everyone else here. Would love a new one, but can't handle the payments at this point in time.

    Got a Question

I agree with the fact that many if not all pro hunters worry about the score of the animal. Like what was said...They count on shooting big animals to prop up their income potential and draw interest to the ranch or outfitter that is promoting that hunt. But I think it is far from reality. Trail cams have made the hunting game into something it was not 15 years ago. How many folks would watch a show that consistently shoot small animals? Fred Eichler shows his misses, shoots small deer( he is into the hunt) and some of his mistakes. I think his show is about as real as it gets. Many of the hunting shows are way too scripted. We do it as a hobby and they do it to eat. Different passions.
  19. That is so cool Dakota...I agree on Ross being one heck of a guy.
  20. Happy Birthday Mike...May you have one hundred more.
  21. Gasoline ignites on spark and diesel ignites on compression. Higher octane retards the spark in the cylinder...but, I guess the way 2 stroke oil burns with the gas, this can fire in the cylinder. But I do not see how it will increase MPG.
  22. Ahhh Yes...Fall the time of year when WE get to make the leaves red . The leaves are changing here also Joe. The Catskills is about 20% already. The Maples are getting their yummy yellow leaves ready to drop. The deer suck em up like candy. Good Luck on your Northern opener Joe.
  23. John gave you good advice Jeramie. The loads are intermittent and will not be drawing the max amperage together at the same time. Your current service will determine if it can handle a sub panel. What size is it? I do not know what your local code is, but 6/3 romex would be what I would run in my house for a 60amp sub panel. They might require SE cable(service entrance) for a sub panel. But romex is fine. To make the space for the sub panel in the full panel. You will have to remove 2 circuits from that existing panel and feed them from the new sub panel. You can run a cable(s) back and splice them in a box. Install receptacles every 10' of wall. Fasten cable in walls every 3' and square all cable runs off and fasten. Bathroom should have its own circuit. Each bedroom having its own circuit is good as long as you have the panel space. Install lights in the closets...a good thing to have. They make switches that fit into the door jamb. When door is closed, light off. No incandescent bulbs in closet...fire hazard. Good Luck, if I can help with anything else...Just shout!
