  1. Thanks guys...We like give back to the community. I teach my kids there is more joy in giving than getting. Dan...here is NYB policy on the crossbow. Don't believe everything you read in NY Outdoor news. NYB Crossbow Position NYB gives back...Unlike the NY Crossbow coalition. We are the largest Bow hunting organization in NYS that has PAYING members! Not like the xbow coalition folks who can join for free online and are financed by x bow manufacturers looking to sell more product. Not wearing hunter orange in bow season...Thank NYB...Oct 1st opener in S Zone...Thank NYB. The age to bow hunt in NYS lowered to 12 from 14....Thank NYB. Many in this state benefit from NYB's hard work. We are hardly anti new hunter and anti youth. Healthy able bodied hunters should shoot a hand drawn bow. Seniors over 65, youth up to 17 and veterans should be able to hunt with what ever they want( I went off the reservation with that one). NYB has taught over 800 kids archery and hunter ed in our FREE youth camps! Archery to me is using a hand drawn bow in the presence of the animal. Otherwise point and shoot is like a gun. Keep the crossbow where it belongs...In the superior weapon/ firearm season.

    Here it is!

Great job! Your gonna create many memories there! Good Luck with it.
  3. Yup...I met a bunch of great folks on here. Learned a bunch also. Got to help some people also. Still one of my favorites!
  4. Prayers and condolences for the Jordan family.
  5. We had a great day! A larger and more attended event than last years. The number of folks we had shoot bows was estimated at about 400! So many vendors came and the archery was the biggest draw at the event. Seems like a lot of parents were into shooting the bow this year. 5 dozen arrows were ready for the trash after last Saturday . NewYork Bowhunters also took in over $100 in donations for our annual youth camp. We had a donation bucket out and never asked. People just gave. We also made over 300 cane poles and came home with none. Local sporting goods stores donated bait, line, hooks and bobbers. You could not put a price on the amount of smiles that came away that day. You can ONLY imagine the misinformation that so many have regarding our sport being only 35 miles from the bastion of bunny huggers....NYC. The NYBow crew of 8 stepped up, shot bows with kids all day and gave straight talk about hunting and trapping. It was once again a very rewarding day. A pic of my oldest boy Joe at the event with a young gal shooting a bow. - See more at: Hunting Forum | Realtree ®
  6. This^^^^^^. Congrats Blade. You are already successful in my book. Dad taught you well Good luck when you go back out. I am proud of you also.
  7. I know I posted this before....But I think it is important enough to get back out there. Use the day to introduce someone new to the outdoors or reinforce some old bonds. We need to keep hunting, fishing and trapping alive for future generations. This is how we do it. See if there is a event happening by you! Home - National Hunting and Fishing Day
  8. The live hunts are exciting...Thanks for doing it Dan.
  9. Hey Mike! Happy Belated birthday. Sorry I missed it pal. Hope all is well with you in Joisey:D

  13. It is coming fast! Sept 28 in National Hunting and Fishing day. Click on the link to see if there is a event happening by you. This is a National event. Home - National Hunting and Fishing Day We here in Rockland county ,NY are hosting our second event. As a Board of director for NYBowhunters. I again... was asked to handle the archery for that day. Last year we had over 300 kids fling sticks at targets. It was by far the MOST popular booth at the event. Maybe use that day to introduce someone new to OUR world of the outdoors .Home - United Sportsmen Association of Rockland A pic from last year.
  14. I might be too late. But if there is room in this contest. I'm in. Oct 1st starts our bow season and Nov 16 our firearm season. I am making plans to whitetail hunt my land in the Texas Hill country(Harper,Tx) and squeeze in a Axis hunt while I am down there too.
  15. Jeramie...Awesome...Just awesome. I envy you. Congrats to her and you and a good day afield. As Swampy said...."My wife wont even set foot in the woods".

    It is a shame!

I get all the screen issues with having to scroll down also using IE. I am using Firefox with no issues...now. It has been terribly frustrating in having to deal with tech forum issues. I would think current forums would have multiple modes of compatibility to communicate rather have folks not be able to get on the forum.
