  2. Well yesterday was my first intramural soccer game as captain. at least 11 of my 13 players showed up. We didn't play to bad but because I was playing goalie in the first half, the other team won 1-0. And I kind of sort of hurtm yself, lol (Tominator, this is for you, lol) If you all want the details, it was during the last half of the first quarter. I was defening a girl when she made a quick cut the other direction, obviously I followed and so I cut back and changed direction. Well cleats tend to keep your foot more solid to the ground so when I twisted, there was a split second before the rest of my leg came. I felt something weird on the outside of my knee, not like a pop or anything, ut something weird and then it hurt. So I hobbled around the rest of theg ame and I couldn't kick the ball worth beans, partially because it hurt to extend my knee and partially because I was out of practice. I went to thet rainer and she said I probably hyperextended my knee and sprained the LCL. It isn't bad but I have to rest, which means no practicing this week especially since we have two games next week. Oh yeah and on October 12 I'll be going on the October break backpacking trip in the Adirondacks so lets hope I'm not injured by then or get injured during, lol! Ok, I'm done for know, let the teasing begin, lmbo
  3. Well I was shooting aluminums and Andy said we should switch me to carbon/graphite so last night we went down to the bow shop which is about 10 minutes away and he actually had the arrows that I would want, all he had to do was cut them a little shorter. So I now have 6 new Beman ICS Hunter 500 arrows, all for the price of $40. I can't wait till till October 15!
  4. Re: Some my garden product Most gourds you can't eat but the long green one on the right of the photo is edible. We deep fried it the other night and dipped it in a special sauce my mom made. She loves Asian food and has a ton of cookbooks. It is easier to take the skin off though when it is younger, as the skin was really really hard and we had to use a huge knife to get it off. When gourds are ready to be picked, their skin turns hard. Therefore you can't eat most gourds but I suppose if you tried before the skin got hard, maybe you could but I wouldn't advise it:-)
  5. Re: I blew it - Twice! Misses happen, don't worry. When wep ut stands up, we mark the shooting lanes with orange flagging at 20 and 30 yards. That way if a deer comes, I know if it is at those distances or inbetween or closer and can betetr judge the distance. Good luck to you and keep at it. I missed 2 bucks the same morning one time my second year of hunting; shot under one and over the other, my bow was part to blame but when beginning, misses come. Good luck!
  6. Re: My 04 ML buck(pic) Those are awesome bucks Sask! Boy I weould love to have a buck like that on my wall someday. It's got to be awesome living in that type of deer country.
  7. Re: Got stood up last night... Don't you just love people who say they'll be there and then they aren't? lol Glad you still had a good time and made it back from the Smackdown!:-)

    Mondays.....

Does anyone else dislike Mondays or is it me? I'm at the library at college right now, hafta go clean bathrooms in a few minutes. I have a class at 10am, chapel at 11am, class at 11:50am, 20 minutes for lunch then class at 1:15pm, class at 2:15pm, work in the training room at 3:00pm, then I get to go home then a meeting at 7pm. It is really pouring rain right now and suppose to all day long which will make walking around campus a drip (get it,lmbo) Ok, I'll quit complaining and whining...I had to vent though. Everyone have a wonderful Monday!
  9. Re: 12 yr old brother Nails one That's awesome! Congrats to him on a first of many!
  10. Re: Bummer of a Birthmark, Bear! (Pics) Very nice bear! Congrats!
  11. Re: poaching Try to get a few photos with your camera maybe, or put a game camera up nearby to try and catch them in the process. You could try to personally speak to them, but of course confronting any pachers is possibly dangerous. It's hard to know what to do, but I hate poachers all the same. Saw one poach right in front of my eyes from a road in a truck a couple years ago...my mom and I tried to get his license plate number but he took off too fast in his truck with the deer.
  12. Re: Just got home................................. Are you serious you bought that Ryan or are you pulling our legs? LOL That thing is huge!
  13. Re: not good.. Wow, I am sorry to hear that, you're heart must have fell when hearing that. Good luck and I hope not all is lost.
  14. Do any of you ever hear the phone ring, you pick it up and say "hello", and no one answers? Just this morning I get up, settle down to watch some hunting on ESPN, and the phone rings at 9am. I'm thinking "who calls us at 9am on Sunday morning?" I answer, saying "Hello, Ruth speaking" and get nothing back. We've had this happen before but this time I hear stuff in the backround then I hear a voice say "did you hear that?" Stupid stupid people whoever they are! I only know of 2 possibilities of who it could be who would do such a thing and have our phone number, but I'm not going to accuse anyone yet. Probably a bunch of bored kids somewhere dialing any number they think of. Still, it is really annoying and not a nice thing to do. Anyone else have this problem?
  15. Re: That time of year.... I think some people on here just experience a version of PMS... lmbo!
  16. Thought I'd post this photo of many various gourds I grew this year in my garden. There are still a few left down with a few pumpkins but these are the majority of them. I'm working on putting them on our table out front to sell. Enjoy! By the way the long, green one on the right of the picture is called a Snake Gourd and is close to 3 feet long! The green ones in the back are called Dinosaur gourds. All the others have names but I don't know them all
  17. So I keep forgetting to post about this but Wednesday night my mom went to drop some bread off at our neighbor's house which happens to be out veterinarian. they told her that the night before they had a black bear in their yard!! Some Amish mym om knows said they had a bear up where they live which is about 15 minutes away, and it got into their bee hives. I live about 1 hour from the PA line and about 45 minutes south of us, in Wellsville, NY, bear are a common occurence. Last year the DEC opened up my area to bear hunting, so this is exciting! Who knows, maybe a bear will come by during deer season and I can get my first bear, who knows. Just wanted to tell you all.
  18. Re: Plans for the weekend? Sleep. Saturday I might meet up with my intramural soccer team for the first time to kick the ball around a bit and get to know everyone. I'll fit some homework time and squirrel hunting time inbetween also.
  19. Re: Realtree Wristband Sales for Hurricane Victims Goy my wristband today, earlier than expected. Thanks Realtree!!! I've got it on right now, lol.

    Hi

Re: Hi Welcome dog! Great to see another female in here!
  23. Last night mom cooked up one of our ducks that we raised and butchered this year. We actually butchered them not too long ago, like first week of September. anyway mom just put some oil, salt, and pepper on it, grilled it and oh boy was that delicious! Remined me of wild turkey almost but still different than turkey. Does anyone else like duck meat?
  24. Re: Adirondack hunting camps In June when I was hiking in the Adirondacks with the professor of my class and his kids, we found a set of deer prints and let me tell you, those tracks were huge! They had to be from a really really nice buck!!
  25. Re: Adirondack hunting camps Wow Ranger, that is a nicer hunting camp than the one I saw. I think the one I saw was pretty old, not an original but old. Nice camp though!!
