Re: ~Update~ On Bob Wow, that is good to hear. Glad Bob is going to be ok and I'm really glad you weren't being pinned by that bull either!
  4. Re: anyone hungry for lobster ? Darn it all, lol!! Lobster here in NY is $12 a pound at the supermarket. We wait until it goes on sale. We use to get it on sale for $5 a pound but they are stingy now. Eat a lobster for me!!
  5. Re: Throwing in the towel. I know how ya feel. I didn't hunt at all last weekend. Spooked 2 turkeys last night, couldn't tell but they may have been jakes/toms. Didn't go after them this morning because ta pre-cal test but maybe, if I'm up to, I'll go out for a couple hours before class tomorrow. Hang in there man. Maybe we should get together for a "losers pf the turkey season" party, lol
  6. Re: Pictures from my cabin porch.... Ditto Jeramie, lol!
  7. Re: Being a Scott I should wear..... Hey, our Uncle who lives in London, England, he sent my sister and I actual Scottish wool kilts to wear when we were younger and actually wore dressed and such, lol. I believe my mom has them saved; my sister has a red plaid one and I have a green/blue plaid one. We do have some distant Scottish blood.
  8. Oh my brain...I didn't even get to finish some of the questions for one of the problems! I've done really well on homework so I shouldn't fail the course, lol, but I wish I had gotten through all the questions,grrr...I think I got most of the other problems correct, hopefully. Wish me luck guys, I got back to class in a few minutes and I'll find out the fate then....
  9. Re: What is minimum wage? I work custodial at my college during the school year and summer. During the school year we get $6.00 an hour and during the summer we get closer to like $6.50 and hour.
  10. Re: Georgia Giant Bream Looks like a big ol' sunfish to me,lol!
  11. Re: CWD and sensationalism And maybe CWD is just nature/God's way of controlling the deer population. Animals get old/sick and die eventually. I think it needs alot more research before anything can be factual.
  12. Re: Fishing in the Adirondacks...what do I need Well my professor told me "trout, bass, perch, pike etc...."and I read that Star Lake has Lake Trout (have to be at least 21" to keep!) And for all I know my professor may take me to some other fishing holes. So far I will probably go with 8lb test line but what do you guys think of 6 lb. test? I actually have a Rapala Sahd rap I got for my birthday and then a smaller floating minnow think I got for Christmas so it will be fun to try those out.
  13. Go by yourself or better yet take your family or friends...God's creation is so beautiful this time of year! Yesterday I went for a hike on this old, old,old railroad bed which runs on the side of a hill through the middle of the woods about 3 miles from my house. I usually have my mom drop me off at one end or the other and I'll hike it. Anyway it was just beautiful and if it wasn't that my mom is older, I wouldh ave dragged her along. Either side of the trail is covered with purple violets, white trilliums, and other purple flowers. I went exploring down this nice creek which is alot of shale and has small waterfalls and nice little holes that hole crayfish. I found yellow violets and red trilliums and painted trilliums(which only like acidic soil like by pine trees and can be difficult to find). It is just beautiful and I was walking in aw the entire time, taking in the beauty of it all. If you are in a bad mood, go to the woods, it'll make you feel better! So I was sore this morning and didn't go turkey hunting but the experience yesterday was worth it
  14. Re: Bad news, knee is wearing out. Sorry to hear the news Rhino...but at least it isn't a life-threatening condition, just an active life style one:o) If you keep uo with your therapy, it should help you somewhat in the long run, until a knee replacement. I'll say a prayer for you.
  15. So I will be going up to Star Lake in the Adirondacks on June 2 for 3 weeks. My college has a campus up there where I will be taking Wilderness First Repsonder (first aid) and a week of Trail Maintenance/Wilderness Living. My professor told me "Bring your fishing pole". So I hear there is good fishing up there? What do you guys suggest I bring besides my license and pole? Like what size line do I want (I was thinking 8 lb. test which is what I usually use), or any lures/jigs? I will take a few lures and jigs and crank baits. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  21. Re: what a shock! Wow, that is really horrible! Prayers will be sent. A girl I know from college, she graduated this year but a few weeks before May, her father died after a bad car accident while on vacation, I can't imagine how his daughter must have felt. Last spring a sophomor girl, only 20, was killed in a car accident. We can't explain why they go so young but the Lord has His reasons.
  22. Re: FUNERAL GONE BAD......REAL BAD Wow...I can see the humor but I hope the two that were in the hole were ok...could have been burying someone else....
