  3. I love crow hunting! Congrats on the good kills! They are smart critters..no doubt. I use a Foxpro caller and dekes that surround a old wig. I also leave the dead crows in a place where I will be trapping come that season and send the feathers to Pueblo Tribe in Santa Fe,NM for their rituals. Check out www.crowbusters.com I think you'll like it;)
  4. Be proud of your kill. Congrats to you.
  5. Look here...They have what your looking for. All the Realtree patterns. http://www.snydercreek.com/ Oh Yeah...Welcome to the forums:)
  6. Welcome to the forums Sheffie. I agree, I bust my butt and get dirty for my check everyday. But When you save up for something, it kind of makes a bit more special. I hope to hunt Alaska one day. But I guess thats what makes those hunts once in a lifetime hunts.
  7. Welcome home Tim, glad you made it home safe. The NY northern zone opener is upon you. Are you hunting near home this season?
  8. I worked there for 9 years as a electrician for the various networks. They had to take down the old stadium, it was held together with duct tape. Well, not that bad really, but the stadium was in bad condition for some time. Remember when a steel beam fell right after the home opener in 97? Well thats when they finally realized they needed a new stadium and they made the decision to put minimum amounts of $ into the place. After the game when the cleaners would hose down the stands...there would be leaks everywhere in the underside of the building. The concrete had cracks all over. Especially the new upper deck they had put on during the renovation of 1974-75. I have great memories and pics from working there and have met some great ball players too. I used to talk hunting with Chad Curtis, Mike Stanton, Wade Boggs and when Clemens wasn't cranky...him too. They knew me as the camo hat electrician:D Here is a pic I took when I was supposed to be working:rolleyes: at the 2000 Met Yankee world series. Being a fan I got lost every now and then:p Yup, thats 3B coach Willie Randolph in the background and Joe Torre and Bobby V are being interviewed by Kieth Olberman( ESPN) whose mother got hit in the head from a ball that Chuck Knoblauch threw in the stands... Ohhh the memories.
  9. Hmmm...goals this season... I'd like to video my son Joe, arrowing a buck and maybe use the recurve to stick one this year. That is of course AFTER I stick one with my Mathews:D . I love non typical bucks. My goal is 3 1/2year old and better, but if something comes by with crazy non typical horns...through the lungs the arrow goes. Good Luck to my fellow NYer's getting out for the Northern zone opener!
  10. Its been getting cold here. At my cabin over the weekend, when I woke up to go crow hunting at 6 am Sunday, it was 30degrees in the Catskills...Lovin' it:) The trees are changing and Fall is underway in NY
  11. That was a nice little story. Makes ya want to visit:).

  17. We are on the board! Congrats Ranchand99. They look like some tender does;). They will be good eatin'. Our season here in NY opens on Oct.18th. We will be ready here in this house. I did a lot of shooting this weekend and I feel good. I used to clip my release onto the string and did so since 04. Thats the way the shop set it up to shoot and it worked until I changed arrows this year(Beman380-16's to Beman Bowhunter400's) and I was not getting good flight/groups. I put a string loop on and adjusted my rest and I've been shooting good tight groups. My Outback and I are ready. Hope everyone had great weekend.
  18. Good Luck... Trucks are ALWAYS cool:cool:
  19. Have a great trip! I really enjoyed West Texas. I will be back there soon;)
  20. Wow... thats puts it in perspective alright. Prayers for you Texans and all that suffered a loss.
  21. Ahhh Thats where you were. I thought you were grading papers and stuck on a essay:D. Glad you guys came out for the most part unscathed. That storm got a lot of people in some way or another. That bites about the trees. Can small trees like that be pulled up right and packed or tamped again with soil? I'm thinking drive rods in the ground, and keep it upright with heavy wire off the rods like you would a new tree. I don't know. I'd try to save the good producer if I could.
  22. Yup...that looks like it hurts a bit. Hope your feeling better and the worst is behind ya.
