  1. I wonder if one of there followers was someone who hit a deer and left it laying in a field alive last night:hammer1: Driving home about 11:30pm I just happen to see out of corner of my eye something darking laying off the road edge in a field...I kept driving then decided to turn around and go back. Mind you it's dark but clear skies and snow made it light. Sure enough I go back and it's a deer laying there. I get out and take a few steps and can see blood in the snow, the deer tries to get up and flops over, it's back end bloody and mangled, looked like it's hind legs completely shattered. I drove home, called the DEC, no one on duty, so called the state police and asked someone to go dispatch it and gave them directions, they said they'd send someone out to take care of...I hope they did. It disgusts me that someone would leave it lay there...it must have done some damage to their vehicle... See PETA....hunting and hunters are not cruel.... If anything hunters, at least I would hope so, have a heart for the animals they hunt. Stick that in your pipe:cool2:
  2. Don't shoot a Mathews but if you get a chance, try an Elite. I did shoot a Mathews Passion and that would have been my choice but then I shot an Elite.... Bows are made so well these days, can't really go wrong with whatever you choose!
  3. I foudn a really good deal on Russell Flintlock women's bibs...my thing is all my hunting clothing is mainly men's sizes so I'm wondering if women's hunting clothes tend to run on the small or larger size? I have a feeling maybe more on the small side? I was going to get a medium but am concerned I may not be able to layer well under them so considering a large.... Wondering what the ladies or maybe even the guys on here who have women who hunt know?
  4. Are you ladies/guys a member of any other forums besides the Realtree forums? I am also on ArcheryTalk, Elite Archery, Chasingame and NY Antlers. I think there may be a few others but these ones I visit the most. AT has a downside of being argumentative. Anyhow anyone on any other forums?
  5. Hope you get a chance down the road to gain that property....I myself am keeping an eye out to eventually purchase a chunk of land with a cabin on it.
  6. I think let's keep it a family friendly forum.....
  7. My lap....9 times out of 10 my bow is on my lap...we'll use a nail though as a bow hanger, cheap alternative, but pretty much once I'm settled in, the bow is on my lap....
  8. Congrats ck, that's awesome!! Be sure to post up some pics of your flies! I'm thinking I'll sit down this weekend and tie a few, need to make sure by box is full for steelhead.
  9. Did I mention yet how excited I am.....lol
  10. 20ga Mossbery Super Bantam with TruGlo fiber optic sights, H.S. Undertake choke...put them on last year...used to have a Red Dot and that broke, so sticking with open sights for now. Been a couple springs with now turkey so hoping to end that this year.
  11. like a QAD, how do you have your arrows fletched? I've shot a WB so I think the fletching are straight. Didn't know if they arrows shoot better with a drop away if they are fletched helical/offset/or straight? Was reading helical will slow down the arrow. Was thinking of straight or offset but wondering your opinions? Thanks! Will be ordering a dozen Beman ICS Hunter 500s and trying to decide on how to get them fletched.
  12. Hope all you Bucks and Does have a happy Valentine's Day:D
  13. Well I am actually going to switch from my WB to a QAD HDX....found a good deal on a likew new one on AT for $90, been debating switching, will have it installed after indoor 3D league is done in April. WB been tried and true but time to upgrade, have heard good things.
  14. You'd have a blast, go for it!!
  15. That's a shame...whowould not want one of your knives...geesh. Give me a PM and let me know what you are making...may be interested.
  16. Finally got to the archery shop to shoot my league scores. Decided to do 3 instead of 2 to make up some scores. Shot 136 1st round, 150 2nd round, 135 3rd round...I was tired and could tell and some shots were shooter error at round 3 so won't do 3 rounds again, will stick with 2. Most of the targets were at 25 to a little over 30. The difficulty increases week by week. Hope to get back next week and shoot 2 more then I'll be back on track;)
  17. Awesome find! I'd call it the Oyster shed...looks like an oyster shell!
  18. Except for I guess packages/medicines/Express mail, the USPS will no longer be dilvering Saturday mail (letter/envelopes/cataloges). Read this on MSN this AM and I guess an official announcement is being made at 10am....Ah well....never usually got anything good in the mail on Saturday, lol. The post offices will remain open on Saturdays though.
  19. I have one out right now....the others are in my closet but probably come March/April I will get a few more out for turkey scouting, then give them a rest for June/July and back out in August for deer.
